Dodi Repacks, the second most prolific and well-known repacker of pirated games behind FitGirl, has broken the hearts of piracy aficionados worldwide today, as Dodi has just announced in a “Roadmap” update on his website that he’s scaling back his piracy operation so he can… get married and become a lawyer? Saul Goodman, is that you?
Dodi is a fascinating figure in the online piracy scene. Much like FitGirl, we don’t know their real name, but unlike FitGirl, we do actually kind of know a lot about Dodi, because he often treats his website like a personal blog.
Obviously, I can’t link either here, but a browse through Dodi’s current website, which has been active since 2018, and their Discord community reveals some oddly intimate and honestly quite kind of touching details about the enigmatic figure. For instance, he lives in Egypt, he’s seemingly only a part of the repacking scene because he “found compressing interesting” when he was young, and he has a rare blood disease that almost killed him in May 2023.
So, why has Dodi, someone you’d think would want to stay off the radar, chosen to share all this information? Based on the way he speaks in his blog posts, I genuinely think it’s because he loves his followers, whom he often refers to as his “family.” And, based on the comments, by god do they love him back. Unfortunately for them, there’s one thing Dodi clearly loves more: the justice system. Oh, and his future wife.
“2026 is the most important year in my life,” Dodi revealed in a blog post on May 16. “My final exams starts May 18 and ends June 11. I already have a good work offer in France. Mostly will start after LAW exam in September. Marriage will be in November 24. Don’t worry, I will not leave you but sure will not be as before.”
The folks over on the subreddit r/PiratedGames are not taking this news well, but they do seem very supportive of their “favorite” repacker’s love life. The irony, however, is not lost on them that there’s a chance that Dodi may have to represent them in court at some point in the future.
