Princess Andre says she's 'relieved' not to be 'caught in the middle' of parents Katie Price and Peter Andre's feud after their 'truce'

Princess Andre has revealed she is 'relieved' to no longer feel 'caught in the middle' of her parents' long-running feud following a truce between Katie Price and Peter Andre.

The reality star, 18, who returns to ITV2 for the second series of her show The Princess Diaries, told the Daily Mail she hopes life will be 'easier' now her parents have chosen to 'close the door on the past' and 'move forward with positivity and respect.'

In an exclusive interview, Princess, whose parents divorced just two years after she was born, said she is even hopeful they could both appear together in a future third season of her show.

She said: 'The good thing is now, my mum and dad have come out with an agreement to be fine so hopefully in season three, they will actually both be in it.

'Honestly, I feel relieved that they both agreed to move forward. It's nice that they can be on good terms - and to think that Junior and I won't be caught in the middle, and hopefully life will be easier for everybody.

'All I care about now is that we can all be happy and not have to deal with stories having the wrong narrative. It would be nice to not have people asking me and Junior about our parents, or issues that they've had, but that looks like that's not stopping yet.'

Indeed, viewers of the teen's show have long been captivated by the fallout between her parents following their acrimonious 2007 split - a divorce that marked the beginning of 16 years of tension between the former couple.

Last August, singer Pete revealed for the first time that Junior and Princess had come into his sole care in 2018, as he addressed what he described as 'lies' and 'baseless claims' made by his ex-wife.

His statement came after Katie claimed she had been 'banned' from filming The Princess Diaries, telling listeners on her podcast that she was 'upset' to be excluded from the project.

The public back-and-forth prompted Pete and his wife Emily to step away from the new series entirely, despite having appeared in the first season.

Now, six months on, the former couple, who were married for four years, have agreed a 'truce', reaffirming their shared commitment to 'family' and 'stability.'

Princess added: 'To be honest, they're still in it - they're just not physically in it. Now there are no issues, it's all calm.

'Coming from the last season, I turned 18, and it was all meant to be about my adulthood journey, but you're going to see a lot more of me being independent.

'This season is seeing me push myself out of my comfort zone and doing things I wouldn't usually do. I'm living my life as an 18-year-old girl.'

While fans won't physically see Katie or Pete in the upcoming season, which returns on Sunday at 9pm, viewers will be introduced to some new faces.

Princess has revealed that her eldest brother, Harvey, 23, will feature in the show for the first time.

She hopes that by including him in filming she can help raise awareness of his disabilities, which include septo-optic dysplasia - a rare condition that has left him partially blind and with growth hormone deficiency - as well as Prader–Willi syndrome, a genetic disorder associated with excessive appetite and an increased risk of obesity and diabetes. Harvey has also been diagnosed with ADHD and autism.

Princess said: 'Harvey is going to be on the show - you'll see our brother-and-sister relationship.'

Junior, 20, who was present during Princess's interview, interjected to add his own thoughts, saying: 'He's our big brother and kind of my little brother in a way. He's our family and we want to show our family.

'Harvey is a massive part of that; we have both grown up with him. We have such a special bond with him, and people know that, but they haven't seen it in a while - maybe they don't know how it works now, but it's great because it shows how the dynamic works.

'We know Harvey inside and out and how he fully works and how to deal with his disabilities and his autism; we really know how to get through to him.'

Princess also revealed that her mother's close friend Kerry Katona has filmed scenes for the show, along with Kerry's daughter, Heidi, 18, whom Princess has known her entire life.

She added: 'You'll see Heidi and Kerry, so there are some new faces. People will love to see my relationship with Heidi because we just bounce off each other. We've gone through similar life experiences, so I feel naturally closer to her.

'I've known her since I was a baby - we've always been around each other. Our friendship is real, and we talk about things that people will probably want to know about.'

While fans won't physically see Katie or Pete in the upcoming season, which returns on Sunday at 9pm, viewers will be treated to the return of Junior and his girlfriend Jasmine

Kerry's appearance in The Princess Diaries could ruffle feathers, given reports that her friendship with Katie is currently 'strained' after an alleged altercation between their respective partners.

It was reported that Katie's new husband, Lee Andrews, whom she married just 11 days after meeting, 'punched' Kerry's Celebs Go Dating boyfriend, Paolo Margaglione, during the couple's 'honeymoon' in Dubai.

Speaking about Kerry, Princess said: 'She does feature in the show. I feel like me and Kerry - she's known me since I was a baby, and I've seen her a lot throughout my life. She's such a lovely person, and again, you'll see us bounce off each other.'

While her mother's love life is anything but ordinary, marrying her fourth husband in January after a whirlwind one-week romance, Princess said she isn't in a rush to date.

She explained: 'I mean, it is possible to date privately. If you want to keep things private, you can do it. Most of my life has been in the public eye, so it's nice to keep something for me. I've spoken about people sliding into my DMs, but for me, I'm taking my time and living my life.

'You'll see in the show that Junior's girlfriend Jasmine tries to set me up on a dating app, but I found it so stressful to deal with. So I'm just doing my thing, and if dates come along, they come along. For now, I'm concentrating on me.'
