How about some freebies to start off?

Well, three freebies to be precise. You could get one or all three, depending on whether you like to listen or read. I mean, they're all free, so you could just get them all.

OK, enough waffling – I'll get to the point.

You can get both Music Unlimited, Kindle Unlimited and Audible for free right now — or rather with extended free trials if you're a new or returning customer. You get three months free of Kindle Unlimited and Audible, but Music Unlimited is arguably better value with four months free and includes audiobooks too.

That's a lot of reading and listening if you ask me. I've already signed up for Kindle Unlimited and am enjoying the Bill Bryson-edited Seeing Further: The Story of Science and the Royal Society (yeah, I'm a history and science nerd).

Audible: three months free, then AU$8.99/m
Amazon Kindle Unlimited: three months free, then AU$13.99/m
Amazon Music Unlimited: four months free, then AU$13.99/m

July 7 is still a few days away but Amazon's early Prime Day deals are 'officially' live already. That means a heck of a lot of Amazon's own hardware, like Kindles, Echo speakers, Fire TV Sticks, Ring and Blink cameras, are already discounted, but it does seem like the online retail giant is holding something back.

For example, only the Kindle Colorsoft and the 2024 (2nd gen) Kindle Scribe are discounted, while some of the Fire TV Sticks are still full price. And yet there are all-time low prices already available, so why wait, eh?

I'm already picking some of my favourite early Prime Day deals for you in the tech category, but not to worry, I'll be here all through the main event too, bringing you the latest and best Prime Day deals.
