It's a big day for Crytek's Hunt: Showdown 1896. The game comes to Xbox Game Pass today alongside the debut of the Murder Circus event that features none other than Hunt: Showdown superfan Post Malone.

Post Malone plays a once-proud Ringmaster who got duped by a traveler who sold him a token that turned people into monsters. Now, Post Malone is getting vengeance. You can see more of what's in store in the trailer below, which is titled "The Show Must Go On."

The Murder Circus event runs through February 10, 2025. The event adds a number of new monsters to fight, including the Ursa Mortis bear and knife-throwing circus grunts. There are also 55 new levels of the battle pass reward track that players can progress through to unlock more stuff. You can read more about the Murder Circus event on Steam.

Hunt: Showdown had its best day ever on Steam in August after the launch of the 1896 update. Developer Crytek overhauled the shooter's visuals and ended support for Xbox One and PS4, though these got free upgrades to the Xbox Series X|S and PS5 versions.

In October, the game got its first crossover character with Scream's Ghost Face. Hunt: Showdown first launched on Steam Early Access in 2018. As mentioned before, Hunt: Showdown is also now available via Xbox Game Pass, joining all the previously announced December Game Pass launches.
