Pokémon TCG Pocket offers players a variety of cards to collect, but the secret Mew card is one you won't be able to pull or buy. Similarly to the Pokémon video games, Mew is rare, and you have to jump through various hoops if you hope to have the chance to acquire him.

Unfortunately, Pokémon TCG Pocket doesn't even openly tell players they have the chance to acquire this card. In fact, the only way you may have seen this card is if you accidentally unlocked it yourself or saw one in another player's display case or binder on the social screen.

Pokémon TCG Pocket Makes Me Want To Play The Real Deal (And That's Exactly The Point)

The Pokémon TCG Pocket app is introducing a whole new audience to the game in the hopes of getting new card game fans, and it's working.

However, if you've already been lucky enough to build your card collection, you might have received this mythical Pokémon as a special reward. That is because the only way to unlock Mew in Pokémon TCG Pocket is by collecting all 150 Kanto Pokémon. This means you need at least one card; it doesn't matter which one of each Pokémon is from Kanto. It may sound easy in theory, but pulling all the necessary cards may take a while unless you have some extra money to spend.

As for the card itself, is it worth the effort required to obtain it? Well, that is entirely up to each player. For someone like me who enjoys the idea of collecting over battling, I would say yes. It's a secret rare Pokémon card, and the only way to acquire it is by collecting cards you plan to try to collect anyway, so there is no loss of effort for a collector.

Pokémon TCG Pocket Card Is "One Of The Best" But It's Only Available Digitally

Fans of the Pokemon Trading Card Game lament cards with incredible artwork that are only available digitally through Pokemon TCG Pocket.

As for players focused on battling in Pokémon TCG Pocket and unlocking strong Pokémon, this may not be worth your time if you have no real interest in the collection aspect. Primarily, it may cause you to waste time, or in some cases real money, on cards you have no intention of using. While you could make some arguments for its use if you're already running a psychic deck, when it is compared to what the rest of Genetic Apex offers among the variety of EX Pokémon, you're better off building a deck around those and perhaps just propping this one up in a display case to earn you some Shop Tickets through likes. Either way, it's a unique and rare full-art card that was a pleasant surprise for Pokémon TCG Pocket players and Mew fans who have completed their Kanto collection.
