Pokémon Winds and Waves won't be releasing until 2027, but fans are increasingly hopeful we're going to see a new Eevee evolution when the Gen 10 games debut. Rumors and speculation have been cycling online for almost a year, and after February's Pokémon Presents unveiled the first trailer for Winds and Waves, the idea of a new Eeveelution has only gotten fans more excited.

"Who else wants a flying Eevee for Winds and Waves?" reads the post on Reddit. This is accompanied by a possible design for a Flying-type Eeveelution, along with a prospective name (Leveon), Shiny version, and the kind of stone (or feather, in this case) that the Pokémon would need in order to evolve. As numerous users noted, it's been 13 years since we've gotten a new Eevee evolution. Sylveon debuted with Gen 6's X and Y games, and since then, there's been no new Eeveelution to speak of. With each new generation of games, whispers of a new Eevee type come into play, but they've been especially loud for Gen 10.

Also in the running is a new Ghost-type Eevee evolution, which has also won over fans. It's a cool idea, but a Flying-type would certainly fit more into the theme of Winds and Waves. Only time will tell if either prediction is accurate, but one thing is for certain: Fans are really in love with the idea of Flying-type Eeveelution for the new games.

Different Eevee Evolutions from Pokemon Go with Eevee in focus

As expected, plenty of Pokémon fans had thoughts on Reddit, and as multiple fans pointed out, a Flying-type Eevee evolution has been considered previously but was ultimately scrapped. Still, that hasn't stopped people from dreaming of this new Pokémon in Winds and Waves, and considering the theme of the Gen 10 games, a Flying Eeveelution would make sense (there is, after all, already a Waves-themed one thanks to Gen 1's Vaporeon).

A few fans threw their own name suggestions into the ring, and others were quick to praise the art style used here, which mirrors Ken Sugimori's iconic designs. And amidst all these reactions and comments, one thing is clear: a Flying-type Eevee evolution in Pokémon Winds and Waves has already won over hearts and minds. Now it's just time to see if Game Freak will deliver.
