Known as 'Cyberpunk 2077's' biggest fan, Angharad is a Welsh games writer who thrives in anything related to digital storytelling. If a video game explores the intricacies and horrors of womanhood, she is there.

Thanks to previous work at GAMINGbible, GameByte, The Loadout, Game Luster, Angharad has built a strong understanding of both the digital world and what fans want from it and is eager to share her thoughts and expertise with readers.

Set to launch some time in 2027 and marking the first installment in the tenth generation of Pokémon games, fans are already feeling the hype for Pokémon Winds & Waves. Announced earlier this year as part of Pokémon's 30th anniversary celebrations, there is not much information about Pokémon Winds & Waves currently available, at least officially, but we do know some of what we can expect from this exciting new saga.

Set in a tropical archipelago region with multiple underwater areas to explore, Pokémon Winds & Waves is set to be the most ambitious entry yet as players explore a vast, ocean-covered open world. Not only that, but our Starter 'mon have already been revealed to be Browt, the Grass-type; Pombon, the Fire-type; and Gecqua, the Water-type. Additionally, rumors point towards a brand-new weather-based mechanic tied to a new "Seed Pokémon", so all of that water may come in handy when it comes to battling.

Other than that, what we know about Pokémon Winds & Waves consists of speculation and rumors, and this latest leak is no exception. Coming courtesy of Light on Twitter/X, the upcoming Pokémon Gen 10 title will feature two legendary boxes including some very exciting Pokémon to add to our ever-growing roster.

According to Light, Pokémon Winds will include a Garuda-inspired Legendary whilst Pokémon Waves will welcome a Naga-like mermaid Legendary. Announced alongside silhouettes of the supposed characters, we can see that the first is a bird-like Pokémon with majestic wings, whilst the second is exactly what you would expect, depicting a mermaid figure with flowing hair.

Of course, this is merely a rumor and comes with no official confirmation from Nintendo, but it would be interesting to see a mermaid-like 'mon added to the game, especially as our new setting is entirely dedicated to the sea.

Whether it is true or not, those excited for Pokémon Winds & Waves took to the comments to share their thoughts. "They better not be Dragon types," one comment read. "Preferably, they ought to be half Psychic types that make wings/fins from clouds/water."

"Since it’s a leak as of yet, I was thinking for Winds, the mascot would be a pterosaur (Quetzalcoatlus) titan (Flying-Dragon), and Waves was a Mosasaurus (Water-Dragon) giant," another suggested.

However, another user had a simple answer following the recent leaks, "Well, depending on how this goes, I’m planning on getting both games anyway, but I am excited to see more of Gen 10 in the coming months."

There is no doubt that we will receive a lot more information regarding Pokémon Winds & Waves over the next few months but, for now, we can continue speculating just what new Pokémon we will get to meet with the arrival of Gen 10.
