The Pokémon Company went big for the first Pokémon Presents of 2026
Image: Game Freak/The Pokémon CompanyThe Pokémon Company celebrated its annual Pokémon Day on Friday with a new Pokémon Presents showcase that, as expected for the franchise's 30th anniversary, was appropriately big. Perhaps the biggest announcement was the reveal of Pokémon's 10th generation games, Pokémon Winds and Waves, but there was much more than that revealed at the first Pokémon Presents of 2026.

Pokémon Winds and Waves
The next mainline Pokémon games arrive in 2027 with Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves, which are coming to Nintendo Switch 2. Game Freak and The Pokémon Company teased the games' tropical setting and the Gen 10 starters — Pombon (Fire), Browt (Water), and Gecqua (Grass) — while offering a broad set of vibes for where Pokémon is headed next.
Pokémon Champions release date
The new competitive Pokémon game Pokémon Champions is coming first to Nintendo Switch in April, with the Android and iOS mobile versions expected "later this year," The Pokémon Company announced.
A Pokémon Game Boy music player
The tunes of classic Pokémon games will be playable on a dedicated new device, a miniature Game Boy that plays 45 chiptune songs and sound effects via red and blue cartridges. It's called the Game Boy Jukebox, or more formally, the Pokémon Red & Pokémon Blue Game Music Collection: Game Boy Jukebox.
The Game Boy Jukebox will be available at the Pokémon Center in the U.S., U.K., and Canada.
Pokémon Pokopia
We got a new look at gameplay from Pokémon Pokopia, including a look at a new boom box form for Rotom — aka DJ Rotom — and more, including a look at a huge Ditto build. Pokémon Pokopia is out on March 5.
A new Mega evolution is coming to Pokémon Legends: Z-A: Mega Garchomp Z!
Pokémon XD Gale of Darkness
Game Freak and Genius Sonority's 2005 GameCube role-playing game Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness is coming to GameCube Nintendo Classics in March.
Pokémon Go's 10th anniversary
A huge range of Pokémon that have appeared in Pokémon Go so far will return, as part of a 30th anniversary event called All Out, which runs March 7 to March 9.
Pokémon Trading Card Game
To further celebrate 30 years of Pokémon, fans can look forward to a new Pokémon TCG expansion in 2026, which The Pokémon Company calls the "first-ever to debut with a simultaneously coordinated global launch."
Pokémon Sleep
Mew is coming to Pokémon Sleep as part of new research of sleep styles.
Pokémon Masters EX
New sync pairs are coming to Pokémon Masters EX, including the original Red and Pikachu from Pokémon Red. Here's the rollout:
- Red (1996) & Pikachu - Friday, Feb. 27, 2026, at 6:20 a.m. PST to Sunday, April 12, 2026, at 10:59 p.m. PDT
- Florian (Anniversary 2026) & Ogerpon - Friday, Feb. 27, 2026, at 10:00 p.m. PST to Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 10:59 p.m. PDT
