The Pokémon Europe International Championships are kicking off next month and with the biggest Pokémon fans from around the world uniting in one place, those lucky enough may just be able to get their hands on a free demo of the upcoming Pokémon Pokopia.
Set to launch on 5 March, Pokémon Pokopia is the first major Pokémon release exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2 and with the life simulation game expected to give Animal Crossing: New Horizons a run for its money, fans are undoubtedly ready to get stuck in.
Pokémon Pokopia Is Getting An Exclusive Free Demo
Bringing the world of Pokémon to the life simulation genre is no easy task, but it seems as though Pokémon Pokopia may just have it in the bag. First unveiled back in September 2025, it has found itself as one of the most anticipated game releases of the year with players ready to live on their very own island with some of their favourite monsters.
However, for those who cannot wait for 5 March, there is a way to check out Pokémon Pokopia earlier and that is courtesy of the upcoming Pokémon Europe International Championships which takes place in London from 13 February to the 15th.
Those attending may just be able to play a free demo of Pokémon Pokopia before the rest of the world can get their hands on it and with players taking on the role of Ditto who must build a new life from the ground up, it appeals to both casual and veteran Pokémon fans alike.
Not Everyone Will Be Able To Play
Unfortunately, tickets for the Pokémon Europe International Championships have now sold out and so only those who have a ticket will be in with the chance of getting their hands on that free demo. Additionally, I would expect that there would be limited windows at the event based on the number of people who will be attending, so don't assume that just because you have a ticket, you will get a chance to try out Pokémon Pokopia.
If you are lucky, you will be amongst the first to check out this brand-new life sim which will task you with crafting and building, creating homes for your fellow Pokémon, learning moves to interact with the environment and even getting to explore different biomes.
Additionally, the Pokémon Europe International Championships event will also allow players to check out the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Pokémon Legends: Z-A for absolutely free. "Get hands-on with the unique real-time battle system in multiplayer battle mayhem. Take down your opponents with carefully timed moves and Mega Evolution!" The official invite page reads.
