Despite this year celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise, many fans have expressed disappointment in the lack of major celebrations and announcements. However, as somebody who is also celebrating their 30th anniversary this year, I understand wanting to pretend that it is not happening.
Not only that, but there has been plenty to celebrate this year when it comes to the beloved Nintendo franchise. Not only did we receive news on the next mainline Pokémon entry, Pokémon Winds and Waves, which launches some time in 2027, but fans also got to enjoy a unique spin on the franchise with the launch of Pokopia. Not only that, but with Pokopia set to welcome an upcoming underwater DLC and even a brand-new town, celebrations are far from over.
However, when it comes to love for some of our favorite classic Pokémon entries, celebrations have been lacking, but fear not, as one upcoming launch will be the perfect arrival for fans of some of the franchise's most beloved classic titles, such as Pokémon Red and Green, Pokémon Blue, Pokémon Crystal Version, and many more.
This comes courtesy of the official Pokémon Center Online website, which has unveiled its latest batch of merchandise dedicated to all of our favorite Pokémon entries ranging from 1996-2004, 2006-2017, and finally, 2008-2025. This, of course, includes Pokémon Gold and Silver, which launched back in 1999 and remains a firm favorite to this day.
Alongside magnets, keychains, and pins, customers can purchase two stunning T-shirts dedicated to Pokémon Gold and Silver, with each design celebrating both Gold and Silver. Here is what the official item listing reads:
The Pokémon series' past game titles are now available as a T-shirt-in-pouch!
The front of the T-shirt features Pokémon and the logo, while the cuffs have a Game Boy icon.
The back is printed with a list of all the Pokémon series games released to date!
Each game's title is printed in a font that reflects its image, with a different color for the corresponding game.
The pouch is designed to look just like the packaging of Pokémon Gold, and features a Game Boy-shaped rubber pull tab as a design accent!
Available in unisex M/L, the T-shirts mark the perfect way to not only celebrate Pokémon Gold and Silver, but also the Pokémon franchise as a whole as it enters three decades worth of entertainment. Going live on 18 June, be prepared to get your hands on some official merchandise ready for the summer.
