UPDATED: For the second time in three days, the Producers Guild has postponed the nominations announcement for its annual awards show due to the L.A. wildfires.
“Out of care and concern for those being affected by the fires, we will be holding the announcement of the PGA award nominees until next week,” the guild said in a statement Sunday.
The nominations previously were pushed on Jan. 9, and rescheduled to be announced today.
L.A.s two largest wildfires, the Palisades and Eaton blazes together have charred nearly 38,000 acres, leaving at least 16 people dead and tens of thousands under mandatory evacuation orders or warnings. More than 12,000 structures have been destroyed or damaged.
Thanks to an aerial assault and calmer winds, firefighters made some good progress on the blazes overnight ahead of another round of strong Santa Ana winds forecast to pick up later today.
