Jeff Dodge (he/him), a published author and graduate of Western Washington University, has been a TV news editor for many years and has had the chance to interview multiple reality show stars, including Randy Jackson, Nick Cannon, Heidi Klum, Mel B and John Cena. Fun Fact: he’s been to every single Idol Live! Tour.

The trailer has been released for NBC's upcoming action thriller series Line of Fire, which stars 9-1-1 alum Peter Krause.

Krause starred as Bobby Nash in eight seasons of Ryan Murphy's hit ABC procedural 9-1-1. Despite being in the lead role, his character met a shocking end during 9-1-1 season 8, three episodes before the finale. That was in April 2025. Now, over a year later, Krause is heading back to network TV with the brand-new series Line of Fire.

NBC just unveiled the official trailer for Line of Fire, which teases what viewers can expect when the show debuts on September 21. Krause plays Mike Hollingsworth, a member of a law enforcement family that works for the FBI, U.S. Marshals, Secret Service and Department of Justice. A conspiracy ravages one particular case they're working on, and the Hollingsworths are forced to protect each other while searching for a killer.

Check out the trailer below:

The Line of Fire trailer opens on a dead body in the woods, as Jane Hollingsworth shows up to investigate. She wonders if any press has shown up yet and is told she's "going to need backup on this" because it's "only a matter of time" before all eyes turn to this case. Jane knows exactly who to call to help with the investigation.

Elsewhere, one of the Hollingsworth sons is chatting with a co-worker, who can't believe that his entire family "works in the field." He wonders what those dinner conversations are like. Cut to one of those dinners, which gets cut short as several members of the family are called into work, leaving the patriarch and matriarch alone at the table.

The trailer then heads back to the case of the dead body in the woods, as Jane calls in her daughter, Clare Hollingsworth, to help. She gets scolded by her mother for showing up late, but Clare's excuse is that she was at her boyfriend's. Jane really wants to meet this "mystery boyfriend." Clare denies the request, saying, "You'd probably polygraph him in the driveway." The look on Jane's face indicates that might not be a bad idea.

Clare wants her mother to take her job seriously. One of her brothers wants their father to do the same for him, especially since Mike is upset that he seems to be getting too close to the President's daughter, the individual he's supposed to be protecting. "If we lose focus, people get hurt," Mike warns.

The mysterious killer strikes again, and the Hollingsworth family learns that one of their own was the intended target. Everyone's on edge now, and distrust starts to build among blood relatives. The trailer ends with Jane wondering how they're supposed to "protect the world and the people you love in it at the same time."
