Pete Wicks has revealed that the decision to work with best pal Sam Thompson's family was a 'risky' one, after joining forces with them for a new podcast venture.
Last month, the longtime friends announced that their company Staying Relevant Productions, which makes their hit show of the same name, has now acquired Sam's sister Louise and her fiancé Ryan Libbey's podcast He Said, She Said.
Speaking to Daily Mail, Pete and Sam said that there were some 'difficulties' in the decision to work with the Made In Chelsea star's loved ones, due to fears that any issues could lead to long-term problems in the family.
The duo, who have been pals for eight years, said that Pete has taken on much of the responsibility of working with Louise and Ryan to avoid 'blurring' lines between business and family.
Pete also shared his hilarious reaction to Louise's announcement on her podcast that she was going to ask him to be a godfather to her and Ryan's son Leo, joking the four-year-old has now surpassed Sam as his 'new favourite Thompson.'
The pair have also joined forces with TUI to help answers their listeners' holiday dilemmas, admitting that even plans for their own trip to Cyprus have have endured speed bumps thanks to their contrasting views on a dream trip away.
Pete Wickshas revealed that the decision to work with best pal Sam Thompson's family was a 'risky' one, after joining forces with the star's sister Louise for a new podcast venture
Last month, the pair announced their production company has acquired Louise and her fiancé Ryan Libbey's podcast He Said, She Said (pictured together with Sam's girlfriend Talitha)
Pete said: 'Obviously I've known Louise and Ryan for some time and it's a bit of a risk taking on kind of family members into the business side of stuff. because there's obviously a slight conflict of interest.
'But with Sam and Louise, it's tough then you're working with family and all sorts of stuff, which is why I do quite a lot on the he says and she said side of things because it separates it a little bit.
'But the nicest part of it is bringing in more of Sam's family because we've always been a family, like all of us together? As much as I'm not part of that family, Sam's mum, Sam's dad, Louise, all of Sam's family have always made me feel like part of the family.
'And one of the things that we have here at Staying Relevant, as in the production company, all the staff we've got is that it's also a bit of a family. So now we're all just this great big blended bunch of f****g idiots that work together, really.'
Sam added: 'One of the best things that could, when we work with Louise and Ryan, is what Pete said there, is I actually don't have much to do with it.
'So Pete actually is pretty much fully in charge of that sector. And I think it was one of the best ideas ever, because it had exactly what Pete said. It means I'm not-- I don't really have any sort of say in terms of when, if Louise is saying anything, I don't really know what it is that she's saying, she goes straight to Pete. So it means that there's never a crossover.
'It was Pete's idea, and it's such a clever thing, because it allows for there, if there ever, and I hope there won't ever be, and I'm sure there won't ever be, but if there ever was a problem, it would allow it to be handled sort of like by the other side of the business, if you know what I mean.
Pete continued: 'I think it's really important for Sam and I and the people that work here and in terms of acquiring podcasts and other bits and bobs that we do - because everything is so intertwined, Sam and I's lives are intertwined, Louise's lives are intertwined - to make clear definitions between what is kind of work and business and pleasure.

Pete also shared his hilarious reaction to Louise's announcement on her podcast that she was going to ask him to be a godfather to her and Ryan's son Leo
'And once you have that, you can enjoy both. It's when that kind of blurs, it becomes quite difficult.
'So that's why we've, I think we've done so well so far is everything has got its kind of place and a time and to be able to do that so that we can all just get on great outside of work.
'Because really work and the business side of things comes secondary the fact that we are a big family.'
Reflecting on Louise's recent godfather reveal, Pete added: 'And on the plus side, Leo is now my favourite Thompson. I've got more in common with Leo.'
Sam and Pete became firm friends after meeting on Celebs Go Dating in 2017, and three years ago the pair launched their hit podcast Staying Relevant.
Prior to that, the duo were most known for starring in respective shows Made In Chelsea and TOWIE, and while their podcast success has certainly helped the pair step away from their reality roots, they insist this played no part in their decision to launch the podcast together.
Pete said: 'The reason we ended up doing the podcast was just because we wanted to do something together, which meant that we could see each other every week.
'Selfishly, the podcast started out as just something for us. It was just back into kind of hanging out and saying that we could do together and just really pinned down time each week where we could just run through all the mad s**t that was kind of going on.
'And it's evolved into somthing bigger and the production company and then acquiring other podcasts and the tours and the O2 and all books and all sorts of stuff.
'But really, fundamentally, it still comes down to the fact that the best part of Staying Relevant and Stayingd Relevant Productions is that Sam and I sit down together once a week at the same time every week and get to spend time together.
'It's really more than anything, we didn't really we didn't even think about kind of how we looked. And to be honest with you, it's probably not changed.
'I don't think we've done anything there, but it was it was purely just based on kind of a genuine friendship and spending time together.'
Sam added: 'A podcast back then was something that not everyone had to have. Like now, I mean, there's a million and one of them.
'But back then it was just a reason, as Pete said, just to actually go and have fun. Because we don't get to see each other as much as well, as much as I would like, maybe Pete would.
'But it's like Pete said, to be able to sit down and just have a laugh is so, we're so lucky and fortunate to be able to do it.
'We now are in that space where we're like, actually, do you know what? It is quite cool to show people a different side of us. We do have a production company.
'We do actually take ourselves a little bit more seriously when it comes to the business side and the production company side.
'It is quite nice to see that, but yet it was never meant to do that. It just sort of naturally evolved, and then we're just sort of doing O2. It's sort of really weird, it's come out of nowhere.'
Since launching their podcast Staying Relevant in 2022, Sam and Pete have turned the show into their own company, and in September they sold out a night at London's O2 Arena
The pair have also joined forces with TUI to help answers their listeners' holiday dilemmas
In September, Sam and Pete cemented their podcast's success with a night at London's O2 Arena, and the pair shared that fans will get a glimpse at the chaotic build-up to the evening in a new documentary.
While the evening itself went down a storm, Pete said he still 'hasn't processed' it due to the 'difficulties' they overcame in planning the show.
The pair are certainly hoping that their upcoming trip to Cyprus with TUI will be a smoother experience, but Pete and Sam admitted that they've already clashed over their ideal plans for the holiday.
Pete said: 'I mean, in terms of why we would be good people for people to bring their kind of holiday dilemmas to is, as Sam said, we are just one big dilemma.
'There isn't a holiday dilemma that Sam and I haven't been through individually all together. As you can imagine, holidays are not high on my list of favorite things to do unless I'm going on my own.
'Similarly to Sam and I, we've had people come in and say, you know, I want a really relaxing time, beach, cocktail, all that sort of stuff. And then you get the more high octane part that wants to go sightseeing and do all that sort of stuff, Sam is that person. I am the beach and cocktail person.
'When we go away, Sam likes to go sightseeing. He likes to go and see all sorts.'
Sam added: 'I want to go see all the ancient Greek temples. I'm so excited. I literally want to go proper historical. I want to be like Indiana Jones, archaeologist vibe, right? And then I want to have a go on the golf course as well.
'And do you know what I really like, actually, is that a lot of the people we've got in touch there, a lot of it's relationships as well. And so I like the way we're coming in to help you in your relationship dilemmas with a holiday.'
