For once, the wheel of fortune didn’t turn in his favor, with TV legend Pat Sajak left looking less than impressed after getting slapped with a parking ticket.

Exclusive Daily Mail photos show the moment Sajak, 79, returned from a hike in Los Angeles’s Balboa Park – only to discover he had been hit with a citation after leaving his sporty black Jaguar convertible posted up next to a busy highway.

Hollywood veteran Sajak has been enjoying a comfortable retirement since stepping down from a 41-year stint as the host of Wheel of Fortune and Celebrity Wheel of Fortune in 2024.

Although leading a quiet life since handing the reins over to Ryan Seacrest, 51, the much-loved presenter still has plenty of fans and went viral last month when he appeared in a sweet clip with daughter Maggie she posted to social media.

In the clip, captioned ‘POV: you’re out to dinner with your parents’, country music star and Wheel's Social Correspondent Maggie is seen jokingly trying to bargain her way out of paying for dinner, offering Sajak ‘two lipliners and a piece of gum’.

Always game for a joke, Sajak could be seen saying sotto voce: ‘It’s OK, it’s on the house.’

Now 79, Sajak likes to keep fit with regular hikes, and also loves the luxury of his Jaguar F-Typs S convertible

In another video captioned ‘I had to get my sass from somewhere’ and posted last week, blonde Maggie is seen asking her dad ‘have you ever met anyone more difficult than you?’

It couldn't have been clearer. Pat was lucky his car wasn't towed as the sign warned

Quick as a flash, Sajak replies: ‘Well you’re up there’.

The dad and daughter duo also put in a more public appearance in Nashville in March when they teamed up as guest announcers at legendary music venue Grand Ole Opry where they were seen hobnobbing with a bevy of country stars.

Sajak and wife Lesly have been splitting their time between lavish homes in Los Angeles and Maryland since his official retirement from the long-running ABC gameshow in June last year.

One is a $6m hilltop estate in the tony LA suburb of Encino which boasts six bedrooms and a massive four-acre lot complete with a pool and fitness center.

The other is a vacation pad in Maryland’s upscale Bluff Park neighborhood purchased for $1.5m in 1991 that sits a stone’s throw from the waterfront.

Like her doctor brother Patrick, Maggie, 31, was raised in the two upmarket mansions and, along with her country music career, has also followed her dad into TV.

Soon after he quit Wheel Sajak and his long-time co-host Vanna White were spotted meeting up for lunch. Vanna continues to work the show as letter-turner with Ryan Seacrest hosting

Pat's last Wheel of Fortune aired on June 7, 2024,after more than 8,000 episodes over 41 seasons

She also has a Wheel of Fortune pedigree, having starred as the show’s social media correspondent since 2021 and stood in for Sajak’s former co-star Vanna White, 69, several times.

Maggie also has a side gig as the Super Bowl special correspondent for Inside Edition but regularly posts video of herself with her TV icon dad.

Despite his retirement, Sajak has continued to pick up work here and there and even made the switch from small screen to big stage last summer.

Although not an actor, Sajak was the headline name and played Lieutenant Columbo in a stage version of Prescription: Murder which had a short run at the Hawaii Theater Center in Honolulu last August.

During his time on Wheel he won the Emmy for Outstanding Game Show Host three times and he was also presented with a Daytime Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011.
