Having started late last year, Fallout season 2 has continued through the beginning of 2026 and made plenty of headlines for maintaining a consistently high quality. The first season already made it one of the best video game adaptations of all time, but season 2 has only strengthened this argument, hence the series becoming one of Prime Video's biggest hits.

Alongside being faithful to its source material, the sci-fi show also features several engaging characters and gripping storylines that set up a particularly bright future. Additionally, Fallout season 2 became the highest-rated live-action video game show on Rotten Tomatoes when it premiered, which indicates that the project is only improving.

However, while Fallout feels good enough to run forever, its absence will be felt as the wait for season 3 begins following the recent finale. Filming for the project is expected to start in May, meaning it won't be back for a while, but luckily, another excellent post-apocalyptic show acts as the perfect replacement and is returning very soon.

Just like Fallout, Paradise takes place following a world-altering threat, and it has just as much suspense and mystery as Prime Video's gaming adaptation. In Fallout, the world was reshaped after corporate greed caused nuclear war, with those responsible for dropping the bombs and other wealthy figures fleeing to secure vaults that helped keep them protected.

Interestingly, Paradise shares some notable similarities, as a select group of people fled to an underground city built specifically in anticipation of a world-ending disaster. After hearing about a supervolcano that could cause an unprecedented tsunami, one of the show's main villains secretly ordered construction on Paradise's main location, which was designed for a limited group of individuals.

As a result, the rest of the world was essentially doomed, with nukes being dropped by other countries as the chaos ensued. However, while Fallout's nuclear war was sparked by the elite who looked to benefit from such an event, Paradise's situation is rather different, with the show's US President even making a heroic decision to give survivors a fighting chance.

Its puzzles regarding the President's assassination and the truth about the outside world add so much suspense to Paradise, making it very easy to get invested in. Although the overall tone and presentation may be different, Hulu's thriller is one of the best-apocalyptic shows similar to Fallout, and it is certainly worth giving it a go ahead of season 2.

Paradise Was One Of 2025’s Most Underrated Shows & Has A Bright Future

Throughout 2025, plenty of new shows debuted to a huge reception, with the likes of The Pitt, Adolescence, and The Studio all stealing the spotlight. However, this meant Paradise went a little bit under the radar despite its positive reception, and while it received multiple award nominations, it doesn't feel quite as much of a mainstream hit as the others.

That doesn't mean it was disappointing in comparison though, as Paradise still had countless great qualities that make it feel underrated if anything, and with a second season arriving in a few weeks, the future is bright. While the show's main mystery is originally about President Bradford's death, it soon becomes clear that there is something much bigger going on.

As a result, the entire series feels completely fresh thanks to the compelling drama, making it one of the best thrillers in the past few years. The show's underground utopia offered up so many twists and conspiracies, most of which were resolved in season 1, but with Xavier heading outside this main location, it feels like anything could happen.

Thankfully, season 2 looks like it'll have just as many mysteries as the first, and with plans for a third season in store, its popularity should continue to grow. Paradise was also among Hulu's best shows in 2025, and if it repeats this in 2026, it could sweep up even more awards and become a modern classic.

There Is Just Enough Time To Watch Paradise Season 1 Ahead Of Its Second Season

Now that Fallout season 2 has officially wrapped up, there is no better time to move on to Paradise, especially since there is just enough time to watch season 1 before the second installment premieres. With Paradise season 2's release date set for February 3, 2026, there are around three weeks to catch up on the events of season 1.

Consisting of eight episodes — all of which are around 50 minutes to an hour — the show is easily bingeable over the course of a few days, but even at a slower pace, three weeks should be enough time to squeeze in the first outing. Still, I wouldn't waste too much time getting started.

The series is available on Hulu in America, while it streams on Disney+ in other locations like the UK and Canada. Therefore, if you're looking for something to fill the void left by Fallout season 2's finale, Paradise feels like the perfect replacement, and its impending second season only makes the thriller that bit more appealing.
