Paloma Faith has revealed she worries over her 'high-risk pregnancy' and said people have criticised her for working and judged her over her size in a new Instagram post.

The singer, 44, who is currently expecting a second child - her first with boyfriend Stevie Thomas - revealed people often ask if she is sure she isn't having twins, leaving her feeling 's**t' for days afterwards.

She also explained that pregnancy at her age comes with 'more worries' due to the higher risks, but said she is ultimately grateful for the chance to experience the 'miracle of life' once more.

She wrote: 'I'm 44 and pregnant with my 3rd baby. I'm so happy. Sometimes people frown at me because they think I'm “too pregnant” to be doing what I'm doing (I like to work).

'Sometimes people say “are you sure it’s not twins” and I go away and feel s**t for 48 hours.

'I’m not and never have been a skinny pregnant woman , I get water retention , I try to not care what people say or think but it’s difficult.

'There are lots more scans at 44 because it is high risk. There are more blood tests, more worries, but most of all I'm just grateful to be given this chance to share this with my partner and to have one more go at the miracle of life. That trumps it all! I can’t wait for the newborn smell!''

It comes weeks after Paloma showed off her growing baby bump as she posed with her boyfriend Stevie in an Instagram snap last month

The singer, who announced she was expecting her first child with the 'posh' managing director in October, held her partner's hand in a black and white image.

Paloma wore a white Champion cropped T-shirt and accesorised with multiple layered necklaces.

She completed the look with distressed denim jeans which were unbuttoned and folded down to display her bump.

The star found happiness with boyfriend Stevie, director of venue The JamHouse, a year ago and has admitted she is finally considering marriage, following her 'devastating' split from long term partner Leyman Lahcine.

The musician married the French artist, 37, with whom she shares two young daughters, in 2017, before confirming they had parted ways in 2022 after nine years, leaving the hitmaker suffering a nervous breakdown.

She then went public with Stevie in March last year as they put on a loved-up display at the Sony Music BRITs afterparty.

A source said at the time: 'Paloma and Stevie are absolutely head over heels for each other but she's been telling people it also feels like her healthiest relationship ever.

'He's 6ft6 and she loves how he towers over her.'

They told The Sun: 'It's sexy and exciting but he's also very in touch with his feelings and a great communicator. It's like they are kindred spirits and they're in it for the long term.'

Paloma has also revealed that her new love has made her finally consider marriage after previously always being totally against it.

Speaking on Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo's Newly Weds podcast in March, Paloma said: 'This is a strange thing.

'I wasn't married to my kids' dad and I've always been someone that's very anti-marriage, because the history of it is that it's about ownership of women and I'm the child of a feminist.

'Weirdly, I don't know what's changed in me, but this guy gives me a bit like "Oh well"'.

She continued: 'I remember when I met him I was like "I'm never going to get married, don't ever ask me".

'And then over time now I'm like "Yeah I don't know, I'll keep an open mind." I can just feel myself softening.

'If my mum hears this she'll be like "What the hell is going on with you? Is it a mid-life crisis?'"

'I do think having kids with someone is stronger than marriage from experience.'
