Sharon Osbourne has thanked the Grammy Awards for its stunning musical tribute to her late husband Ozzy during Sunday evening's ceremony.

Ozzy passed away at his Buckinghamshire home on July 22 after suffering an 'acute myocardial infarction' and 'out of hospital cardiac arrest' - just three weeks after performing a farewell show with his Black Sabbath bandmates at Birmingham's Villa Park.

Attending the Grammys on Sunday, the late rocker's wife, daughter Kelly and son Jack were reduced to tears after Post Malone joined forces with Guns N' Roses stars Slash and Duff McKagan, Red Hot Chilli Peppers' drummer Chad Smith and guitarist Andrew Wyatt for a live rendition of Black Sabbath classic War Pigs during the show's In Memoriam segment.

The song, originally a hit for the pioneering metal band in 1970, generated one of the biggest performances of the night, and Sharon, 73, later credited Post Malone and his supergroup for 'carving it into musical history.'

Sharing video footage of the performance on X, she wrote: 'Last night was bigger than a performance. It was a moment carved into musical history. Reminding everyone that rock isn’t nostalgia - it’s alive, evolving, and still the heartbeat of music.

'Post you were pure magic, a shapeshifter with a voice that can bend into any genre. Slash, Duff, Andrew, Chad you are the master of your craft and complete icons. Truly from the bottom of my heart, thank you.

'Ozzy was definitely in the building.'

Equally enthralled by the performance, son Jack, 40, added: 'Zero notes - PERFECT.'

Ozzy was laid to rest on the grounds of his own mansion in Buckinghamshire during a private funeral attended by his family and a host of rock royalty.

His widow Sharon and their children were joined by stars including Marilyn Manson and Ozzy's lead guitarist Zakk Wylde during the event at the family's 250-acre estate near Gerrards Cross.

His passing came just weeks after he appeared on stage for his farewell concert at Villa Park stadium in his native Birmingham.

The concert - three weeks before his death - saw him reunite with his original Black Sabbath bandmates for the first time since 2005.

More than 42,000 fans packed into the venue for the Back To The Beginning show, during which he told the crowd in his final speech: 'You've no idea how I feel - thank you from the bottom of my heart.'

Official documents listed three causes of death for the rock legend. This included an out of hospital cardiac arrest, acute myocardial infarction and coronary artery disease and Parkinson's disease with autonomic dysfunction.

Equally enthralled by the performance, son Jack also gave thanks for the live performance

The ceremony on Sunday honored the Black Sabbath legend, who passed away six months ago at 76 following a heart attack

In a statement shared last July, Ozzy's family said he died 'surrounded by love', adding: 'It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.'

On Sunday evening the rocker's family broke down as Post Malone and huis band of stars performed one of Ozzy's best known songs.

Kelly was visibly shaken, flanked by her mother Sharon, who dabbed at her eyes, and brother Jack, who stared ahead, jaw clenched as he struggled to hold back tears.

The trio's grief was unmistakable, their expressions reflecting the raw weight of the tribute - even as Kelly revealed she had been bracing for the moment while walking the red carpet.

'It means more than I can express into words,' she said during the official Grammy’s red carpet live stream. 'To see his peers and this community cherish him in such a way, and in a way that he deserves. It’ll be very emotional.'

Ozzy was one of heavy metal’s true trailblazers, first with Black Sabbath and later as a solo icon.

Over six decades, he sold more than 100million albums and gave the world unforgettable classics like Iron Man and Crazy Train.

His decorated career included five Grammy wins - two with Black Sabbath and three as a solo artist - cementing his place as one of music’s most enduring legends.
