Outer Banks Season 4 Part 2 Just Betrayed A Sarah Cameron Story After Only 1 Month

Warning! This article contains spoilers for Outer Banks season 4, part 2.

Outer Banks season 4, part 2 introduced a massive storyline for Sarah Cameron, though one that betrays a set-up for her character from only a month ago. Played by Madelyn Cline in Outer Banks' ensemble cast, Sarah has been an integral part of the show since season 1. With Outer Banks' latest treasure hunt, the show delved deeper into each of its central characters, Sarah included. This began in Outer Banks season 4, part 1, with part 2's release a month later taking Sarah's arc to new places.

As of Outer Banks season 4, part 2's ending, big developments were presented for the Pogues. Not only were the crew stranded in Morocco empty-handed with only Sarah's twisted brother Rafe for company, but a major character death in Outer Banks season 4 rocked the group to its core. On top of that, Sarah was left reckoning with a massive piece of news, one that makes sense for her character's progression yet goes against a storyline set up for her in Outer Banks season 4, part 1.

Sarah Cameron Being Pregnant In Outer Banks Season 4 Part 2 Betrays A Part 1 Scene

The Show Teased Sarah Would Not Have Children Any Time Soon

Outer Banks season 4, part 2 revealed that Sarah is pregnant. As alluded to, this certainly makes sense as an endgame storyline of sorts, given that Outer Banks is ending with season 5. However, it goes against a scene from Outer Banks season 4, part 1's ending that specifically centered around the idea of John B. and Sarah starting a family. In the scene from Outer Banks season 4, part 1, John B. alludes to the idea of him and Sarah having children. Rather than proving she is into the idea, however, Sarah quickly shuts John B. down.

The Pogues return for a treasure hunt in Outer Banks season 4, part 1, and along the way, they face danger and JJ learns a secret about his past.

Sarah tells her boyfriend they are too young to be starting a family just yet and to slow down given that they are only 19 years old. That said, she falls pregnant in Outer Banks season 4, part 2. While the pregnancy was obviously unplanned, Sarah's fear is adequately depicted, and the storyline was a natural one for the sake of melodrama and gearing up to the show's ending, it goes against Sarah's wise decision in season 4, part 1.

Regardless of how Sarah's pregnancy impacted her previous arc, Outer Banks season 5's story will be greatly affected by this reveal. For one, Sarah will likely be placed in less overtly dangerous situations than she has been in previous seasons. John B. and Sarah - and the rest of the Pogues, for that matter - are now fighting for something greater than themselves, meaning the safety of Sarah and the unborn baby will be a big priority going forward.

Outer Banks season 4, part 1 aired on October 10, 2024. Part 2 aired not even a month later on November 7, 2024, typifying how quickly Sarah's arc was changed.

Furthermore, Sarah's baby will likely be the primary way JJ's death is honored in Outer Banks' future. JJ was asked to be the baby's godfather in Outer Banks season 4, part 2 before his death, which could indicate that the baby will be named after him, either JJ or Jackson, to honor John B. and Sarah's fallen friend. Finally, Sarah's baby sets up the next generation of Pogues in Outer Banks as the story of this generation comes to a close.
