Deal: ZDNET readers can exclusively save 20% on any KeySmart SmartCard purchases from Aug. 1-31 at Amazon with the code ZDNET20OFF at checkout. This includes the latest SmartCard (Gen 3) and the SmartCard (Gen 3) Ghost model

With this offer, you can grab a KeySmart SmartCard for $36 (save $9), a 3-pack for $77 (save $19), or a 5-pack for $120 (save $30). KeySmart's Bluetooth tracking cards pair with both Apple and Android devices, and provide location tracking for any essential that can store it: wallets, purses, pockets, etc. These slim cards are most popular for popping into wallets to add location-tracking services without needing to account for other popular devices like AirTags.

KeySmart's cards are ultra-thin, rechargeable, and longtime favorites of ZDNET staff like me, writer Matthew Miller, and gadgeteer Adrain Kingsley-Hughes. ZDNET's team has tested several iterations of the SmartCard over the years, including the latest SmartCard Gen 3 model

Expert Matthew Miller says the battery is projected to last users for 11 months, though it recharges easily.

"The SmartCard charges up wirelessly, so you can just set it down on your wireless charger to top it off. I like that I can use my Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 with reverse wireless charging to power up the card," Miller says in his review.

"There is a single integrated button on the back of the card to initiate pairing, but otherwise, it looks like a plain black credit card with some white-colored labeling on it. The onboard chime is pretty loud for such a sleek device, and you can also get pop-up left-behind notifications if you enable that in your settings."

If you prefer a different look, KeySmart also offers the Gen 3 SmartCard in a Ghost configuration. The name here implies what it looks like: the internal workings of this SmartCard are easily identifiable, as it has a white-grey translucent appearance. Either option you choose will help upgrade your wallet from basic to better, and for a limited time, you can save 20% at Amazon with code ZDNET20OFF at checkout. Just be sure to apply the code before finalizing your order.
