Olivia Attwood tried to 'fight' ITV for the chance to stay on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!

The reality star, 33, was the first Love Islander ever chosen to take part in the jungle survival show in 2022 but was sent home just 48 hours after touching down in Australia on medical grounds.

Olivia has now described that as the 'worst thing' that has ever happened to her during her TV career.

She was keen to do the competition but bosses wouldn't allow it and still can't discuss some aspects of the sudden exit.

Speaking to Pete Wicks on his Staying Relevant podcast, she explained: 'That is the worst thing that's happened to me in this industry.

'In terms of, like, just the disappointment.

'You know what it's like when you really want something. Oh muy God, I really wanted the jungle.

'They always said this at ITV, they always said they weren't gonna do a Love Island/jungle crossover.

'So when I got it I felt 'I've finally done this thing to get chosen to go in.'

'It was just a  c*** up on so many levels. Some of the details, I can't talk about but it was a medical thing essentially.

'I tried to fight them on it because I felt like I was fine.'

The Loose Women star noted that 'conversations have been had' about her potentially making a return to the show

She confirmed that she 'would [go back and do it again]' and that ITV 'left the door open', but she needs time to 'settle on it' all.

She said: 'I know I could have gone back. I need time to settle on it because it was such an anticlimax for me.'

Olivia admitted that her sudden axing from the jungle reality show was the 'worst thing' that had ever happened to her in her television career.

She said: 'It was just a c*** up on so many levels. Some of the details, I can't talk about but it was a medical thing essentially.'

The documentary maker shot to fame when she participated in Love Island in 2017 and was the first contestant from the show to be invited onto I'm A Celebrity...

While speaking to the former Strictly Come Dancing contestant, Olivia noted that she burst into tears upon leaving the show, although she has previously vowed to make a comeback at some point.

She told The Sun: 'The jungle will be getting finished at some point, one thousand per cent. I can’t rest until I’ve finished it.

'But probably not this year. From a purely logistical point of view, it would be almost impossible.

'Plus, being a contestant is not something I’m prioritising because I think I just want to really focus on being a host right now.'
