Off Campus star Ella Bright, 19, addresses age gap with Belmont Cameli, 28, as fans go wild over their raunchy scenes

Ella Bright has addressed the nine-year age gap between her and her Off Campus co-star Belmont Cameli.

Since its May 13 premiere, fans of the hit Prime series have expressed concern over the raunchy scenes between Bright, 19, and Cameli, 28, which have made fans go wild.

But the British-American actress defended the depiction of their characters Hannah and Garrett's onscreen romance, saying she was fully prepared to take on the role.

'I came into this job...with more than enough information and knowledge and understanding of what this role required,' she told Amanda Hirsch on Tuesday's episode of the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast.

Bright clarified that she was 18 years old while filming, and noted that she plays a college student who is 21. 'I couldn't be more comfortable on this set with these people,' she shared.

'I just fell in love with Hannah and these scripts immediately. There was never a question that I wouldn't want to do this,' she emphasized.

The rising actress added elsewhere in the conversation, 'I get people's concern, but also not once did I feel, one, left out from being younger than everybody.

'We’re all such a family and everyone was just more than perfect.'

Bright went on to discuss the show's nudity, pointing out that her scenes are partially nude, while her 26-year-old costar Mika Abdalla's role as Allie calls for full nudity.

She described Allie as having 'this amazing confidence about her and she is so free with her body and sex is just such an important part of her life.'

Bright said: 'Everyone had full understanding of what we were going into.'

Earlier this month the star told People magazine about getting familiar with Cameli, 'I remember the first time I met Belmont, we did the first kiss scene between Hannah and Garrett, obviously without the kissing.

'We have so much fun together. He's the greatest,' Bright gushed. '[We] met at the chemistry reads, we got each other's numbers and we've just been friends ever since. I mean, when you spend that much time with someone on set – we'd have like 15, 16-hour days – you have to be just the best of friends. I really look up to him a lot.'

'But it was really funny, because we would get really, really close and they would go, "And cut!" It was really, really fun.'

Off Campus has become one of Prime's biggest hits of the season and has a mix of steamy sex and hockey reminiscent of the HBO Max show Heated Rivalry.

Cameli's fabulously-chiseled abs are one of the show's main attractions.

But unlike Heated Rivalry, the sex scenes are heterosexual.

Off Campus follows the relationship between Cameli's character Garrett Graham and Bright's character Hannah Wells.

It is based on the best-selling Off-Campus book series by author Elle Kennedy.
