The Chrissie Swan Show co-host Jack Charles has quit Nova after 11 years, with the radio star believed to have been poached for KIIS FM Sydney breakfast.
Jack, 29, announced his departure live on air on Wednesday night, saying his last day on air will be Friday.
Headlines soon emerged suggesting he will be part of the new line-up expected to take over the coveted slot that once belonged to ratings juggernauts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie 'O' Henderson, according to news.com.au.
'I will be hanging up the headphones this Friday. I was worried I'd get emotional coming into this, but I'm feeling positive and feeling good,' Jack said.
'I turn 30 in a few months and I think I'm just ready for a new challenge and to see what else is out there for me.'
Jack went on to say he had already informed co-host Chrissie of his departure; the media personality is currently on sick leave.

'I was fortunate enough to share this news with Chrissie before she became unwell,' he said.
'We had a lot of long chats about it. She was incredibly supportive. Mine and Swanny's friendship will go well past this radio show and always has.'
The Daily Mail has reached out to Australian Radio Network, the parent company of KIIS FM, for comment.
It comes just weeks after Kyle, 55, claimed a celebrity presenter would be replacing his axed KIIS FM breakfast show, five months after it was taken off air.
The celebrity podcaster revealed last month on his new show Kyle Sandilands Live that a very surprising veteran presenter is set to take over the now-vacant slot once held by him and former co-host Jackie.
'I've got an announcement to make, a little bit of sneaky information I have got. Dr Chris Brown... No one has a bad opinion of him,' Kyle revealed. 'He's going to be the new me!'
Kyle finished by saying Dr Chris, 47, would be co-hosting the new breakfast show alongside current KIIS weekend presenter Amy Gerard.
However, KIIS FM denied Kyle's claims, saying a replacement had not yet been signed.

'Incorrect. We haven’t signed him,' KIIS FM said in a statement to news.com.au.
'We're not commenting on any of the speculation. We'll let you know when we have something to share.'
The Bondi Vet star also addressed the rumours, appearing on Fox FM's Fifi, Fev and Nick a few days later to imply the rumour wasn't true.
'[Kyle] said, "I know radio, and you have the job!" He said it was going to be a flop!' host Brendan Fevola said to Dr Chris.
'Well, that's terrible,' the TV vet replied. 'It's also not true. There's a lot to break down about that.'
