Starting in September, Nintendo is raising the price of the Switch 2 console by $50 to $499.99. To make the price hike a little more palatable for customers, the console maker has announced new bundles that offer some of the best deals on the Switch 2 available.
Today, Nintendo revealed Mario Kart World and the upcoming Nintendo Switch Sports Resort will get bundles coming in the next few months. First up is the Mario Kart World bundle, which will cost $549.99. It will feature the console, a code for a digital copy of the game, and a 90-day Nintendo Switch Online individual membership. According to Nintendo, the bundle will be available in late September, saving customers about $38. Mario Kart World has been one of the Switch 2's truly great platform exclusives, even if it never generated any GOTY buzz.
The Nintendo Switch Sports Resort bundle will launch alongside the game on Oct. 22. It will include the console, a code for a digital copy of the game, and a 90-day Nintendo Switch Online individual membership. It'll cost $529.99, a savings of $28. The bundle likely costs less due to Nintendo Switch Sports Resort's lower retail price, but offers fewer savings since the game will be a new release when the bundle launches. The follow-up to 2022's Switch Sports will include 12 games, five of which are returning from its predecessor: tennis, volleyball, basketball, bowling, and golf. The new sports include table tennis, archery, skateboarding, and thumb wrestling, among others.

Nintendo isn't the only company raising prices on hardware. PlayStation and Xbox have both announced multiple rounds of price hikes for their respective hardware. That's the fault of generative AI, which has created a RAM and storage shortage in consumer electronics. All the current consoles would typically see price cuts at this point in their lifespans, but the opposite has occurred, which has depressed console sales across the industry.
Nintendo's price increase on Switch 2 hardware goes into effect on Sept. 1.
