Nineties icon Adam Rickitt leaves his wife stunned as he undergoes ANOTHER major hair transformation after reaching for the scissors - and fans say he looks 10 years younger

Adam Rickitt has showcased a major hair transformation, leaving his wife Katy stunned.

The actor, 46, shot to fame with his boyish good looks when he landed the role of Nick Tilsley on Coronation Street in 1997, where he was well known for his blond curtain haircut.

In recent months Adam has rocked a much different look, sporting long bleach blond locks, with fans jokingly comparing him to Jean-Claude Van Damme and Bonnie Tyler.

However, on Sunday, Adam opted for yet another hair overhaul as he dramatically chopped off his ponytail while working in his Cheshire bar. 

And while his wife was seemingly alarm at his sudden transformation, Adam's fans were loving the look, with several noting that he looked 10 years younger. 

In a video shared to his Instagram at the weekend, Adam's wife Katy filmed the pair and informed their followers that because the bar was quiet due to the storm, that Adam had decided to cut off his hair.

She then laughed: 'Now if anyone wants to give some money to charity, now is the time.'

However, before his wife had the chance to process his intentions, the former soap star had already got out the scissors and began chopping off his tresses without a second thought. 

Katy cried out: 'No no! what are you doing?', having seemingly thought that her husband was joking.

Adam then giggled as he brandished his now chopped off ponytail in front of the camera, adding: 'That part's gone.'

His partner stared into the camera in shock as Adam showcased a shorter style, however, she soon came around, telling him: 'Oh my God, it looks really nice! can you keep it'.

In a second video, Adam then showed off the full results of his hair change, with his hair stylist having trimmed his hair shorter and added platinum highlights.

Taking to the comments, fans were quick to praise Adam's new look and remark that he looked a decade younger.

They penned: 'Adam you look 10 years younger'; 'Love it…..makes you look younger'

'Ooh Katie …. Your Adam looks fab ! He looks 10 years younger ! What a transformation… I’m old enough to be his mum … but what a hottie !!'

It comes after Adam and Katy looked unrecognisable in throwback snaps as they celebrated a major relationship milestone in October.

Katy took to Instagram to pay tribute to her husband Adam with a series of throwback snaps to celebrate 13 years since the day they met, with the pair looking unrecognisable. 

The first throwback snap she shared was of herself and Adam all dressed up as they beamed at the camera in front of a Christmas tree.

She also posted another sweet throwback of the pair huddled in close for a picture as she kissed her lover's cheek.

And in three more snaps that followed, the pair were looking happier than ever. 

Katy wrote out a heartfelt message in the caption that said: 'It may seem like we celebrate every milestone but this is the one that means the most to us. 13 years ago I went to interview a man about a dog... well actually @adamrickitt about a RSPCA home for dogs! 

'A one hour interview lasted a day, a first lunch date lasted beyond dinner and then we made the vows to last a lifetime! We just worked out it's a third of my life... that doesn't seem enough I can barely remember anything beforehand. 

'I love this man with all my heart and soul. Happy 'gotcha' day xx.'
