Nicole Kidman and daughter Sunday Rose, 17, present united front at Met Gala after teen unfollows dad Keith Urban

Nicole Kidman and her daughter Sunday Rose, 17, put on a striking united display at the 2026 Met Gala amid renewed speculation over family tensions following Kidman’s split from country star Keith Urban.

The Oscar-winning actress, 58, arrived as a co-chair of fashion’s biggest night in a red sequined Chanel ensemble, while Sunday Rose opted for a strapless pink Dior look that complemented her mother's bold style.

The mother-daughter duo were seen walking the red carpet hand-in-hand, pausing to pose together and share affectionate glances.

Their joint appearance comes shortly after reports that Sunday Rose recently unfollowed her father Urban on Instagram.

It also comes amid claims that Sunday Rose and her younger sister Faith Margaret, 15, have grown distant from their father in recent months 

Last month, it was reported that the two girls were allegedly refusing to meet their father’s rumored new girlfriend Karley Scott Collins amid the shock breakup. 

But at the Met Gala, any off-stage drama seemed far from the focus, with the night instead centered on the glamour as Sunday Rose made her debut on fashion’s most famous steps. 

Embracing the event’s 'Fashion Is Art' theme, she wore a Dior creation by Jonathan Anderson, a strapless pink gown adorned with floral detailing. 

She completed the look with statement earrings and delicate feathery heels.

Despite being just 17, Sunday Rose has already carved out a growing presence in the fashion world. 

Alongside her studies, she has walked for Calvin Klein and Miu Miu in Paris and Milan, sat front row at Chanel and Balenciaga shows with her mother, and appeared in campaigns for Dior.

She has also begun landing magazine covers and editorial spreads, steadily building a profile beyond her famous family name.

Still, the Met Gala marked a particularly significant milestone for the teenager, as she stepped onto the red carpet alongside her mother for one of fashion's most high-profile nights.

In addition to Kidman, the 2026 Met Gala is co-chaired by Beyoncé and Venus Williams, with a star-studded host committee that included Anthony Vaccarello, Zoë Kravitz, Sabrina Carpenter, Alex Consani, Misty Copeland, Lena Dunham, Teyana Taylor and others. 

The event marked the opening of the Costume Institute’s new exhibition, Costume Art, which explores the relationship between fashion and the body through an artistic lens. 

The mother-daughter Met Gala appearance comes after Kidman and Urban shocked fans in September when they announced the end of their marriage, closing the book on their 19-year relationship, long seen as one of Hollywood’s most solid.

While the legal aspects of the split have reportedly been settled quietly, sources say the emotional fallout is still playing out behind the scenes.

Urban has reportedly moved on with 26-year-old rising country star Collins - a development that is said to have deepened the divide within the family and left his daughters more firmly aligned with Kidman.

As reported by Daily Mail, 'everyone is adamant' the singer is involved with someone new and that the relationship is 'serious,' with rumors centering on Karley. 

According to celebrity reporter Rob Shuter, Sunday and Faith are 'refusing to meet Urban's new girlfriend' as a show of loyalty to their mother.

A family friend told Shuter: 'The girls are really focused on mum right now. They're adjusting to all the changes, and it's natural they want to protect their space.'

Meanwhile, Urban is 'trying to balance his own life with his daughters' needs,' another source divulged.

'He wants them to be comfortable, but the girls' priority is their mum and their own well-being.'

Away from family tensions, Urban is reportedly pouring his attention into music instead.

Reports suggest he is currently based in Nashville, where he is renovating a studio on Music Row while also working on a new breakup-themed album.
