Nicki Minaj ridiculed for 'cringe' fantasy photos of her and Donald Trump twinning in pink as she celebrates Presidents' Day

Nicki Minaj marked Presidents' Day with a bizarre tribute to Donald Trump that was quickly roasted by fans.

The Anaconda hitmaker, 43, paid homage to the Commander-in-Chief, 79, on X by posting two photos that were digitally altered to replace what looked to be her husband, Kenneth Petty, 47, with Trump.

The duo matched in Barbie pink outfits while cruising in a car, with Trump throwing the 'okay' symbol up with his hand.

Upon closer inspection, a reflection of Minaj's husband appeared to be visible in the window behind Trump's head.

The snaps saw Minaj, an ardent supporter of the Trump administration and a self-proclaimed 'number one fan' of the president, counting stacks of cash.

The rapper wore a pink striped t-shirt and layer of diamond chains, while AI Trump matched her in a pink Nike zip-up and jeans featuring intricate pink floral embroidery.

'Happy #PresidentsDay,' the star — born Onika Tanya Maraj — wrote in the caption.

'Cringe,' one fan simply wrote in the comments.

Another one echoed the sentiment, writing, 'Isn't this cringe?'

Someone else wrote, 'Dies from cringe.'

'This is just tacky.'

Meanwhile another fan wondered why she didn't use real photos of her and Trump.

'You actually met the man, why didn't you just use a picture of you two then instead of AI?' they asked.

'We can all see your man in the reflection lol,' someone else added, referring to Minaj's husband.

The hip hop star wed Petty — who is a registered sex offender — in 2019. They share a five-year old son together.

The post was quickly slammed as 'cringe' and 'tacky' by fans

In the last three months Minaj has advocated for Trump and Vice President JD Vance, and appeared hand-in-hand onstage with Trump at the Trump Accounts Summit in January

In the last three months, Minaj has advocated for Trump and Vice President JD Vance on social media, supported Erika Kirk at Turning Point USA's AmericaFest in December 2025, and appeared hand-in-hand onstage with Trump himself at the Trump Accounts Summit in January.

Following her appearance with Trump, Minaj called herself the president's 'number one fan.'

She even sat alongside the president and the first lady at the premier of Melania's eponymous documentary earlier this month.

Her MAGA support has stirred up some conflict among her loyal fanbase, the 'Barbz.'

Some have blocked her online or even destroyed her merchandise in protest of her political shift.

Minaj is no stranger to controversy – she has a history of instigating bitter public feuds with other musical artists like Mariah Carey, Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, and, most recently, Jay Z, as well as nursing a seeming penchant for conspiracy theories (she went viral for her vaccine skepticism during the pandemic).

But her political shift has incited the most fallout for her yet.

Her new stance is a far cry from her past political statements.

In 2018, the rapper criticized Trump's immigration policies, calling out the administration's separation of immigrant children from their families in a Facebook post.

'I came to this country as an illegal immigrant @ 5 years old,' Minaj wrote in her post.

Minaj also met with Erika Kirk — the widow of famous conservative firebrand Charlie Kirk — at Turning Point USA's AmericaFest in December 2025

'I can't imagine the horror of being in a strange place and & having my parents stripped away from me at the age of 5. This is so scary to me. Please stop this. Can you try to imagine the terror & panic these kids feel right now?'

Some have suggested that Minaj's enthusiastic support of Trump may stem from hopes of securing presidential pardons for her husband, who was convicted of attempted rape in the first degree, and her brother, Jelani Maraj, who was convicted of predatory sexual assault and child endangerment.

Democratic strategist Mike Nellis posted on X, 'It's super f***ing embarrassing watching Nicki Minaj kiss Donald Trump's a** to get a pardon for her husband and her brother.'

Minaj is hailed as one of the trailblazing female artists in the male-dominated hip-hop industry but, in recent years, her achievements have been overshadowed by controversy in her personal life and dramatic rap beefs.
