Nick Carter gives barista chance of a lifetime as he gets him to open up his solo concert in Cleveland

Nick Carter is flying solo right now as he kicked off his latest leg of the #WhoIAmTour and his #WhoIAmNewArtist search in Cleveland, Ohio on Tuesday, September 24..

Ahead of the show, the Backstreet Boys star took to his Instagram page to share the news that he found one of his Who Am I New Artists working at a coffee shop who just happened to be a performer himself.

It turns out Carter made a special connection with Jordan Tellez after he helped him make his stop at the shop a pleasant experience while eating and drinking on Tuesday, one day before his gig.

After having normal conversations over coffee, Carter took notice of the employee who took care of his party and proceeded to ask him to take part in his contest and open up for him for his show later that night.   

'The #WhoIAmTour kicks off TONIGHT in Cleveland! I decided to take my #WhoIAmNewArtist search to the streets, where I met @_jordan_tellez_ this morning at breakfast,' the As Long As You Love Me star wrote in the caption of his Instagram post. 

Nick Carter, 44, found a barista in a coffee shop in the Cleveland area to open up for his solo show on Tuesday as part of his Who Am I tour and #WhoIAmNewArtist

Carter added, 'You never know where incredible talent is hiding. Can't wait for you guys to check out Jordan opening the show tonight at MGM Northfield Park!' 

The Jamestown, New York native, who's poised to drop his fourth solo album Who I Am, told the story of how Tellez impressed him along with his personality, work ethic, and the music he played for him.   

Tellez played him a song off Spotify called 93 Degrees, which the Backstreet Boys singer gave a thumbs up. 

The up and coming musician went on to share that he's originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, and that he moved to the Cleveland area about five years ago.

When chatting in the clip Tellez was asked what he sound is like, and he quickly revealed how he's been inspired over the years by The Chainsmokers, an electronic DJ and production duo out of New York City consisting of Alexander 'Alex' Pall and Andrew 'Drew' Taggart. 

Ultimately, Tellez got to perform two songs as an opener to Nick Carter's show at the MGM Northfield Park in Northfield, Ohio, which is a suburb of Cleveland on Tuesday. 

Nick Carter's Who I Am tour is a solo trek that began in 2023 to mark his return to the stage after seven years.

The tour has included stops in the United States, Canada, South America, Asia, and Europe, and will continue into 2024 with a second leg in North America kicking off in Cleveland.

The dates go through many parts of the U.S. and Canada until November 23, ending with his concert in San Ramon, California.

Carter has also been incorporating listening parties in between all of the show dates starting on September 30 in Toronto that goes through November 16 in Las Vegas.

So far, there's no official word on when his Who Am I studio album drops.

As of 2019, the Backstreet Boys have sold more than 130 million records worldwide, making them the best-selling boy band of all time

Over the course of his career he has released three solo albums, with the last being All American (2015) nine years ago.

Of course, he's best known as one-fifth of the legendary boy band, Backstreet Boys, who have carved out a place in musical history with their 10 albums since their debut in 1996.

There last album as a band came with the release of the holiday-themed, A Very Backstreet Christmas (2022).

As of 2019, the Backstreet Boys have sold more than 130 million records worldwide, making them the best-selling boy band of all time.
