A cinematic obsessive with the filmic palate of a starving raccoon, Rob London will watch pretty much anything once. With a mind like a steel trap, he's an endless fount of movie and TV trivia, borne from a misspent youth of watching monster movies on TV, perusing the sun-faded goods at the local video rental shop, and staining his fingers with ink from the Video Movie Guide. Areas of interest include science fiction, film noir, horror flicks, '70s disaster pictures, Bond movies, '90s action, giant robots, dinosaurs, super heroes, and the exuberantly schlocky output of Cannon Films. He also enjoys both Star Trek and Star Wars when they're good, and maybe even more when they're bad. As a Canadian, he also has a vested interest in Canadian movies and TV shows, especially the cheesier ones dubbed "Canuxploitation."
An expert on Marvel Comics, he has also written for the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe, and is a member of the Marvel Research Team. He can frequently be found pontificating on comic-book continuity or bemoaning the misfortunes of the Toronto Maple Leafs on his Twitter account.

On September 8, 1966, Star Trek first beamed into TV sets nationwide; sixty years later, the series has become a pop culture icon. Star Trek Day has become an annual celebration of all things Trek, and this 60th anniversary is offering a bevy of events worldwide for Trekkies young and old.
They've already announced several events. Four Star Trek movies will return to theaters from September 4-8, accompanied by big-screen screenings of thematically linked episodes of Star Trek: The Original Series. And yes, you will be able to eat popcorn out of the USS Enterprise. Meanwhile, the fourth and penultimate season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will continue through September, with the season finale premiering on September 24, exclusively on Paramount+. Animated preschool series Star Trek: Scouts will debut its second season on YouTube on the 8th, as well.
There are also several new TV specials set to debut next month. On September 7, Entertainment Tonight will open their archives for a Vault Unlocked special, featuring interviews with Star Trek legends new and old; that includes an interview with late Trek creator and "Great Bird of the Galaxy" Gene Roddenberry. On September 8, CBS game shows Let's Make a Deal and The Price Is Right will air special Trek-themed episodes; look for appearances from Strange New Worlds stars Ethan Peck and Rebecca Romijn. That evening, Nick at Nite will air a four-hour marathon of Trek-themed The Big Bang Theory episodes, starting at 10 p.m. ET.
What Other Events Are Happening for Star Trek Day?
While Star Trek originated in Hollywood, it knows no international borders, so there are events happening all over the world...and even off it. In Los Angeles, Gene Roddenberry's star on the Walk of Fame is being restored, and will be unveiled on Star Trek Day with Roddenberry's family in attendance. London's Science Museum will be the headquarters for an attempt at a Guinness World Record; fans worldwide are invited to perform the famous Vulcan Salute. In Germany, Movie Park Germany is holding a special Star Trek event. Star Trek is also heading to space: European Space Agency astronaut Sophie Adenot will wear a Starfleet badge aboard the International Space Station.
