A Display For Smart-Home Lovers

You’re probably thinking: aren’t all smart displays best for people who love a smart home? You’re not wrong. But if you’re a smart home gadget geek like me who doesn’t need another speaker in the house, but wants a hub to control your devices, the Echo Hub (8/10, WIRED Recommends) is a sweet spot. It has a built-in hub to connect your various smart bulbs, plugs, and more, and you can easily check the status of every device in your home with a glance at the screen. I like that, unlike the Echo Show line, there’s no distracting slideshow or ads: it’s truly just a smart home controller and voice assistant. The built-in speaker is pretty weak for anything beyond responding to a question, but you can connect it to a speaker you already have so that any sound requests will go towards the true speaker instead of this smart home controller.

My Hero Patches Are $7 Off

Mighty Patch (72 Count)

While I love my Starface and Dearcloud pimple patches that add a little pizzaz to my breakouts, sometimes all you need is a basic clear hydrocolloid patch. These patches are great for overnight use or for wearing all day, especially if you’re trying to apply makeup over them. I’ve never been able to do so successfully, but it apparently works for some people. With 72 stickers for about $15, that’s a little more than a quarter per patch. I think…I’m not great at math, but it’s definitely less than the original price, and I will never not need a pimple patch.

This Indoor Camera Lets You See the Entire Room

C30 Dual Security Camera

Full disclosure—I included this camera in my pet cameras guide, but I’d also argue it would fit with our indoor security camera guide too. Before I started testing cameras, I didn’t really “get” the point of having an indoor camera, and one especially for monitoring my cats. Now, I can’t leave my house without obsessively checking my Imilab app to see what mischief my babies are getting into while I’m away. (Spoiler: they’re mostly sleeping.) But this camera doesn’t have as many pet-specific features as other top picks in my guide, but I’m still obsessed with it. The dual cameras have 3K high definition, with 360 degree rotation up top, and a stationary camera below for even more coverage.

There's also live view and two-way chat, night vision, and 6X zoom. AI detection alerts to things like barks, meows, loud noises, and fire, so you can receive notifications for anything alarming. Through the connected app, you can view live footage, review footage stored in the MicroSD card or Cloud, and share with others. Plus, smart voice control can be accessed with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. Another added bonus is that this camera has an adjustable mount that can be installed on the ceiling for even greater range.

I Love This Tiny Bluetooth-Enabled Chess Set

I am a nerd and I love chess and I also want my kids to love chess. But no matter how many books and StoryTime Chess sets I got them, they just weren't that interested until Particula sent me this Bluetooth-enabled chess set. The squares light up as you pick up different pieces, and an AI coach walks you (my kids) through the implications of each move. It made them much less competitive and the game much less stressful (my kids are 8 and 10), because they can talk through all of the moves together. It's really fun and there are a bunch more really good board games on sale right now.
