One piece of leaked information that caught many people's attention surrounds the incredibly popular Pokémon Eevee. Eevee is well known for its ability to evolve into eight unique evolutions, and countless fans have begged for more to be created for years. Apparently, there was originally a plan to create a ninth Eeveelution in the past that was unfortunately scrapped, much to the dismay of fans, but perhaps there is a chance it could one day become real.
What Was This Scrapped Eevee Evolution?
An Eeveelution That Could Take Flight
Recent posts by CentroLeaks on X have revealed that this brand-new evolution for Eevee was going to be Flying-type, which is a typing that many fans have wanted for years. Although no name was revealed for this specific Eeveelution, it is now known that it would have originally appeared in Pokémon Sun and Moon. This means it would have debuted just three years after Sylveon appeared in the games, had it not been cut during the lengthy development process.
Apparently, the leak revealed that this Flying-type evolution was scrapped because it too closely resembled designs that had been created by fans. There are countless artists online who have created their own versions of Eeveelutions with the various unused Pokémon types, and while they are all fantastic, it is completely understandable why Game Freak wouldn't want any of its own designs to too closely resemble those of other artists.
Could This New Evolution Appear In A Future Game?
This New Evolution Could Appear Again, Though It May Be A While
Given the fact that there is still a lot of time for more Pokémon games to be developed, there is always the chance that this Flying-type evolution could make a reappearance one day. Despite the many new forms and evolutions that would appear in Pokémon Legends Z-A, it is unlikely that this new Eevee evolution would debut in that game. Considering the fact that Sylveon debuted back in Pokémon X and Y, it would make a lot more sense that it gets way more attention than any brand-new Eeveelutions since Z-A is also set in Kalos.

Many Pokémon are captured for the purpose of battling, but there have been many instances of humans eating the various creatures they come across.
Although it is unlikely that this new Eeveelution will appear in Legends Z-A, Pokémon fans should not give up hope. It is likely that this Flying-type evolution is not gone for good, as there is a chance that Game Freak has not completely abandoned the idea even after all this time. There is always a chance that it could finally show up in a future game at some point over the next few years, though it will likely need to go through more rounds of design iteration before then.
Will The Flying-Type Eeveelution Appear In Gen 10 Games?
Potential Codenames Could Hint At This New Eeveelution's Debut
There is a lot of community speculation to draw from when thinking about whether this Flying-type Eevee could appear in the upcoming Gen 10 games. The data leaks revealed that the Gen 10 games are going by the code name Pokémon Gaia, with the two versions being referred to as "K" and "N" respectively. Many have pondered just what exactly these letters could be referring to, and there are some people online who might already have a potential answer.
Many people in the Pokémon community believe that the K and N codenames are in reference to the Japanese terms "Kaze" and "Nami," which mean wind and wave. With one of these two games potentially referring to the wind, it would make complete sense for a Flying-type Eeveelution to make its debut in this generation. However, only the reveal of the official names will provide a true hint as to whether the Flying-type Eevee could appear in them or not, so everything is still up to speculation for now.
With so much speculation going around, there are a lot of fans who are excited for what the future generations of games have in store. With how beloved Eevee is, it is only a matter of time before a new Eeveelution is finally revealed, and there is always a chance it could be the leaked Flying-type. Until then, only time will tell when exactly this new unnamed Pokémon will finally make its long-awaited debut in a future mainline game.

Pokemon
Created by Satoshi Taijiri , Ken Sugimori , Junichi Masuda
Summary
Spanning over twenty-five years, Pokemon, known as Pocket Monsters in Japan, is the multimedia franchise created jointly by Nintendo, Game Freak, and Creatures. Conceptualized by Satoshi Tajiri in association with Ken Sugimori and Junichi Masuda, Pokemon is set in fictional worlds where people live together with tamable creatures known as Pokemon. Humans who catch, raise, and battle the creatures are known as Pokemon Trainers. They head out on extensive journeys across their continents to raise their Pokemon with the ultimate goal of competing in tournaments to become the champion. Pokemon spans several massive properties, from a long-running animated series to a successful trading card game, to the medium that started it all, video games. In addition, Pokemon began the "two-game" trend where two versions of a game would release and include different Pokemon/features between the versions, encouraging players to meet up with others and trade so they could "catch 'em all."
