Cillian Murphy looking surprised as Tommy Shelby in Peaky Blinders season 6

The Peaky Blinders movie gets a new image, revealing a first-look at Barry Keoghan's character. After a popular six-season run, the world of Steven Knight's hit historical British crime drama show is set to return in a film for Netflix. The Peaky Blinders movie sees Knight return as writer and Tom Harper directing, and it will also feature series star Cillian Murphy back as gang-leader Tommy Shelby. In addition to some familiar faces, the movie, which takes place during World War II, is expected to feature a number of new characters, many of whom have remained shrouded in mystery.

Netflix now shares a new image from the Peaky Blinders movie, unveiling Keoghan's character for the first time. Though the character's name still remains a mystery, the image shows Keoghan wearing a leather jacket and leaning out the window from behind the wheel of a truck. The background of the image suggests the character is in an industrial, factory-like setting, which could suggest he's some kind of truck driver, perhaps for Shelby's gang. Check out the image below:

What The New Image Means For Keoghan's Character In The Peaky Blinders Movie

Who Else Is Appearing In The New Netflix Movie?

Though nothing has been confirmed just yet, the image could suggest that Shelby will have another ally in Keoghan's character. Beyond the World War II setting, very little is known about the movie's actual plot, but the timeline does put the storyline at least 6 years after the end of Peaky Blinders season 6, which took place in 1933. Keoghan also isn't the only newcomer to the film, and chances are that at least one new actor will serve as the primary antagonist.

Other additions to the film include Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth, and Jay Lycurgo, but familiar Peaky Blinders cast members like Stephen Graham (Hayden Stagg), Sophie Rundle (Ada Thorne), Packy Lee (Johnny Dogs), Ned Dennehy (Charlie Strong), and Ian Peck (Curly) are also returning. If Keoghan's character does end up serving as a new member of Shelby's crew, he'll likely be interacting with a number of fan-favorites and adding new dimensions to familiar character dynamics.

More to come...
