New Palworld Trading Cards & Latest Updates May Make It Worth Revisiting

2 days ago 2

The addition of new digital trading cards and a range of recent new updates have provided a perfect reason for many players to consider revisiting Palworld. While there are indicators that Palworld’s reach will soon extend to PlayStation consoles, which will likely prompt a new influx of players and interest in the title, the game has arguably faded from prominence in the minds of many who already have access to it. However, with Palworld still in active development, there are always new reasons to pick up the game once more.

Palworld is constantly evolving, from minor improvements to larger changes like the enormous Sakurajima Update. Of course, after such new content is fully explored, it is understandable for many to set the game aside for a time. This allows for another set of additions to build up so that the next time they do play the game, there is plenty of novel content to enjoy once more. Palworld has already built up a reputation as being a rival to the Pokémon franchise, but this style of development certainly helps it to stand out from the latter.

Palworld’s Recent Updates Offer Many Improvements To Established Features

More Than Just The Sakurajima Update

While the Sakurajima Update brought Palword to version 0.3.1, the game has now progressed to version 0.3.6. This represents a further two months of development time, and while no one update has come close to matching the Sakurajima Update’s size, subsequent updates have nevertheless collectively provided an appreciable array of improvements. For example, many bug fixes have been released since Palworld version 0.3.1, which have helped to greatly improve Palworld’s overall stability. While not new content, these patches have undeniably improved gameplay in their own way.

Notable bug fixes in the past few months include updates to Palworld’s new PvP Arena and its save file system, preventing situations that could see players getting stuck or losing their game progress. There have also been plenty of bug fixes related to Palworld’s constantly-growing Base system, correcting everything from pathing issues to harmful random events beginning inside a Base’s confines. While most of these problems were more frustrating than anything else, improperly stored save file data could be hugely damaging, so any updates in this area are extremely important to Palworld (as they would be for any game).

In the wake of the Sarkurajima Update, the game has also been rebalanced in various ways to improve gameplay. For example, as of version 0.3.4, there are new settings to adjust the intervals between Meteorites and Supply Drops. The same update also saw Merchants begin to sell meat and a 25% reduction to all damage inflicted on summoned Pals. As a result, not only can players more easily avoid the prospect of butchering their adorable Pals with a Meat Cleaver, but the many dangers found throughout the game are now notably easier to deal with.

As of September 12 2024, Palworld has announced that Steam Trading Cards are also now available in exchange for playing the game. This alone brings plenty of rewards for logging some additional in-game hours, allowing players to work towards collecting 10 different card designs. These, in turn, can then be used to unlock a variety of beautiful badges and backgrounds. Interestingly, in addition to being an indicator of how much one enjoys Palworld on their Steam Profile, this collectible digital artwork includes some incredible representations of the game’s world and characters.

The images released for Trading Cards and Background feature both Pals and human characters. Because of this, people can show their appreciation for not only Pals like Depresso and Cattiva, but also the relatively sympathetic tutorial villain Zoe Rayne and her Grizzbolt. With such a wide variety of images, there is sure to be something that appeals to every Palworld player.

In addition to the 10 Trading Cards, Palworld now offers a total of six badges and nine profile backgrounds for Steam users to collect and display.

The Sakurajima Update may have yet to be matched in Palworld’s development, but smaller updates have continued to improve the game nonetheless. Moreover, the addition of Steam Trading Cards and their related collectibles have also provided a new kind of incentive for players to dive back into the game. Palworld will continue to grow and develop over time, but these changes still mark a perfect opportunity for many to reacquaint themselves with it as the developers work hard on future content.
