Admit it, you read the words “Katamari Damacy” and immediately started humming a string of “nahs” to yourself. It’s been several years since we’ve had a reason to think of the Prince of All Cosmos, his finer than frog hair daddy, and the big, sticky balls of junk the become the stars in the night sky. The series’ latest releases were Katamari Damacy Reroll and We Love Katamari REROLL+ Royal Reverie, remasters of the series’ first two games that released in 2018 and 2023 respectively. But now, there’s a totally brand new entry coming to Apple Arcade next month: Katamari Damacy Rolling Live.

In the game, your dad, the King of All Cosmos has decided to take up being a livestreamer and he’s going to use your talents as a master katamari roller to grow his audience. Unfortunately, from the game’s screenshots, it looks like players will use common joystick controls to roll katamaris instead of making use of gyro controls like you could in the Switch versions of the two remakes.

Despite the fact that Katamari’s creator Keita Takahashi has moved on to develop other games like Noby Noby Boy, Wattam, and the forthcoming To a T, Katamari Damacy Rolling Live still seems like it’s stuffed full of the original game’s trademark quirkiness. It launches exclusively on Apple Arcade April 3rd.

In addition to a new Katamari Damacy game, Apple Arcade is also adding another game we haven’t heard from in a long while, Space Invaders. Space Invaders Infinity Gene Evolve seems to be a new twist on the old alien shoot-em-up formula. According to the game’s Apple Store page, as you play, the game evolves from classic, 8-bit Space Invaders action into a more modern 3D bullet hell experience. Also releasing on April 3rd, the game looks pretty dope for a franchise that’s been around longer than I’ve been alive. (Sorry, oldheads.)

If rolling katamaris aren’t your thing, how about rollercoasters instead? RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic+, mobile ports of the first to RollerCoaster Tycoon games, is also coming to the service. Puffies, The Game of Life 2+, and Sesame Street Mecha Builders+ round out the rest of Apple Arcade’s April games drop.
