It's hard to believe Disney Lorcana has been around for two years now, but some new books give fans a chance to catch up on the current storyline and get nostalgic about past cards. Called Disney Lorcana Collector's Guide, there are currently two books available. One for Sets 1-4, and another for Sets 5-8.
This means the two books comprise all the sets from The First Chapter through The Reign Of Jafar. It's a great way to read through the lore in a storybook format, but these guides also include full card lists for all eight sets, including checklists for those who want to use these Collector's Guides to keep track of their inventories.
Disney Lorcana Collector's Guide Overview
Photo by Austin King. Both books are hardcovers and priced at $19.99. I was given the chance to check them both out, and they didn't disappoint. The artwork is fantastic, and the pages are high-quality. The card lists that make up the back are excellent, but I was most enthralled by reading through the story of Disney Lorcana, something I'd never really done before.
The first book comprises the first four sets, while the second book comprises the next four. Together, the two Collector's Guide books feature the stories and cards from the following Disney Lorcana sets:
- The First Chapter
- Rise Of The Floodborn
- Into The Inklands
- Ursula's Return
- Shimmering Skies
- Azurite Sea
- Archazia's Island
- The Reign Of Jafar
It's the first two years of Lorcana, in an easy-to-read format that also lets you see all the cards that have been released during that span. I'll admit, there were a few I'd forgotten about, so it was great flipping through the book and seeing them again.
Disney Lorcana Fans Will Love The New Books
Photo by Austin King. The Disney Lorcana Collector's Guide books are the perfect gift for you or the fan in your life. I wasn't sure what to expect, but the guides should be must-haves for anyone who loves the TCG. As someone who especially adores the artwork of Disney Lorcana, I loved getting to see all the card art as I flipped through the pages.
At $19.99, the books are reasonably priced and honestly worth it. With the story of DIsney Lorcana currently up to Winterspell this February, which is Set 12, I'm hoping we get a third guidebook soon. And with Pixar characters arriving later this year, that should make for an interesting fourth volume. If you're a fan of Disney Lorcana, definitely check out these guide books. You won't regret it.
