Netflix's new R-rated action movie is already punching its way to popularity.
The world's most popular streaming service is a prime destination for action movies, with Red Notice (2021), Carry-On (2024), The Adam Project (2022), Back in Action (2025), and The Gray Man (2022) all ranking among Netflix's most-watched movies of all time. Some of the streamer's action movies released so far in 2026 include The Rip, The Wrecking Crew, and War Machine, with the Alan Ritchson vehicle already ranking as Netflix's ninth most-watched movie ever. Now, Netflix's new action movie has quickly become a hit.
10 Best Netflix Original Action Movies In History
Netflix has put together a great catalog of strong original action movies from tales of revenge to exciting battles against the undead and more.
Just four days after its release, Husbands in Action has officially become a streaming hit. Netflix's new R-rated action movie follows a detective who joins forces with his ex-wife's new husband to track her down after she is kidnapped by a criminal organization, as the pair must overcome their conflict in time to pull off a daring rescue.
Now, following its release on June 19, Husbands in Action is No. 2 on Netflix's Global Top 10 non-English movies with 5.7 million views and 13.8 million hours viewed for the week of June 15-21. It ranks below Colors Of Evil: Black at No. 1 and above Bhooth Bangla, The Marked Woman, Colors of Evil: Red, Daddy's in Trouble, Manitou's Canoe, Maa Behen, Kafir: The Spirit Gate, and Dhurandhar The Revenge (Raw & Undekha).
Husbands in Action is the No. 1 in two countries this week – South Korea and Thailand.
Directed by Park Gyu-tae, who co-wrote the script with Kim Jong-hyun, the South Korean action comedy stars Jin Seon-kyu, Gong Myung, Kim Ji-seok, Yoon Kyung-ho, Kang Han-na, Lee Da-hee, Jeon So-min, Oh Eun-seo, and Lim Yoona.
Husbands in Action only has three reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, which isn't enough to qualify for a score, though they are all positive, with Christie Cronan of Common Sense Media calling it "Confident and bold, this film offers a fresh perspective on the unlikely duo concept."
Pramit Chatterjee of Digital Mafia Talkies says, "If you're looking to have a fun time, or if you have been burnt by Priyadarshan one too many times, give Husbands in Action a watch and thank me later," while Sarah Musnicky of But Why Tho? writes, "With its high-intensity kidnapping plot, car chases, boat chases, paragliding incidents, and a freezer hulk out that is reminiscent of Naked Gun antics, there's never a dull moment to be found in this latest action-comedy."
With that kind of momentum, it looks like Husbands in Action is a fun ride that people can't stop watching.
