It's a pretty good week to be a fan of thriller series. Netflix recently debuted I Will Find You, the latest from prolific author Harlan Coben. Featuring a cast of well-known actors, including Sam Worthington (Avatar), Milo Ventimiglia (This Is Us), Britt Lower (Severance), Chi McBride (Boston Public), and Madeleine Stowe (Revenge), the eight-parter unfurls the saga of a man who may be wrongly imprisoned.
According to FlixPatrol, another eight-part thriller could be coming for I Will Find You, as the Spanish-language drama Oasis comes in at #2 worldwide. It's just beaten by titles by I Will Find You, and it comes in ahead of titles such as Teach You a Lesson and The Nemesis. In the U.S., Oasis has been hovering in the Top 3.
Hailing from showrunner Ramón Campos, Oasis gets its name from a luxurious holiday resort. It's a paradise for the wealthiest families, promising the perfect summer. But things take a turn when the police apart police arrive to investigate a mysterious disappearance. It turns everyone into a suspect. It also turns the resort into a holding cell where no one can leave until the culprit is found.
Oasis particularly focuses on Dani (Tomy Aguilera) as he visits the resort for the first time with his family. He soon finds himself as part of a police investigation when Celia (Victoria Kantch), a young hotel concierge that he's developed feelings for, is kidnapped while at the resort. Everyone, from the millionaires to the staffers, is on lockdown as detectives move through potential suspects.
During all of this, though, Dani bonds with Celia’s best friend and coworker, Helena (Ana Garcés). This leads the duo to realize hidden secrets that will come back to haunt them and may prove to have far-reaching consequences.
Berta Castañé, Manel Duarte, Ada Molina, Alex Mola, Cande Méndez, Laura Simón, Jan Buxaderas, Amanda Palomino, Blas Polidori, Paco Tous, and Verónica Sánchez also star in Oasis, which ScreenRant calls “a must-watch.”
Oasis hails from the creative team behind the gritty Spanish crime thriller A Widow's Game. Their latest outing, Oasis, may read more like a version of The White Lotus that puts the focus more on young adults and kicks things off pretty quickly with a crime. It's a quick binge, in any case, that looks to be finding success with subscribers.
Oasis is available to stream on Netflix.
