It's Friday the 13th, meaning horror is on the horizon, and Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer and their production company Upside Down Productions have released a trailer for their new horror series, Something Very Bad is Going to Happen.

Despite the Duffer Brothers cutting ties with Netflix and moving over to Paramount, their production company has other plans with a new horror series, determined to make everyone nervous. After a divisive ending to their decade-long sci-fi phenomenon Stranger Things, everyone is on the edge of their seats to ensure their next project isn't a major flop after what was arguably one of their most controversial seasons yet.

Netflix has unveiled the trailer for Something Very Bad is Going to Happen, which is due to premiere on Netflix on March 26. The trailer shows the main character, Camila Morrone, being thrown apologies by everyone, all while getting ready for her big day. The apologies are sinister, and it's unclear if they are indeed genuine, as the creator and showrunner, Haley Z. Boston, has stated that it feels like everyone is out to get Morrone's character, Rachel, leading up to her wedding day with Adam DiMarco's character, Nicky.

"If Carrie is horror’s version of a girl becoming a woman, and Rosemary’s Baby is the horrific version of a woman becoming a mother, Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen is horror’s take on a woman becoming a wife. Rachel (Camila Morrone) is getting married in five days. Together with her fiancé, Nicky (Adam DiMarco), she embarks on a road trip to his family's vacation home, secluded in a snowy forest, for the intimate wedding ceremony of their dreams.

Which really would be so lovely, except ... prone to superstition and paranoia, Rachel can't shake the relentless feeling that something bad is going to happen. Her foreboding doubts, coupled with a series of eerie coincidences and dreadful surprises, force her to ask the question: What makes two people soulmates? And worse — what could be scarier than lifelong commitment to the wrong person?"

Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen

Something Very Bad is Going to Happen is one of three new series arriving on Netflix courtesy of the Duffer Brothers, including The Boroughs and Stranger Things: Tales from '85. It was also just announced that the Stranger Things prequel play, The First Shadow, would also be released on Netflix as a live show recording.

The series is a limited series and features eight episodes, with each episode taking place over a day leading up to Rachel's wedding day. The cast includes Jennifer Jason Leigh, Jeff Wilbusch, Karla Crome, Gus Birney, Ted Levine, and Sawyer Fraser. Boston has revealed an insight into Morrone's character, Rachel, as her paranoia intensifies the closer she gets to the ceremony, fueled by strange occurrences with her fiancé's family.

"Even when she's not in the scene, we were always thinking about constructing the show in terms of her discomfort. It really represents how it feels to walk into a house for the first time and meet your significant other's family. There's all this lore that you are not aware of, and you're suddenly stepping into it."

Netflix's horror series Something Very Bad is Going to Happen will be released on March 26.
