Nervous Cruz Beckham reveals he was 'nearly crying' as he called his parents before Lollapalooza show as they asked him how to stream the gig from their holiday in France

Cruz Beckham was overcome with nerves ahead of his show in Lollapalooza Festival in Chicago on Saturday.

The singer, 21, who is currently on tour in North America alongside his band The Breakers, admitted he was 'nearly crying' as he called his parents David and Victoria before the gig. 

Sharing a behind-the-scenes video to Instagram on Monday, Cruz confessed he was full of nerves ahead of the festival show, especially as it wasn't his band audiences had specifically come to see. 

He told fans: 'It's Lollapalooza day. I am very nervous... Just the fact that people aren't even there just to see us. That's the thing. 

'People are there to see other things as well. So like, this is just going to be a side quest to them. So it's got to be really, really f*****g good. 

'I mean, I'm so grateful for this opportunity. I feel like I understand the privilege that I've been given and I just want to give the best show and be able to show people who I really am and show people what I can do. 

'It's going to be fun, but... I was on the phone to my mum and dad just now, and I was telling them how they can stream it and then I almost started crying over the comfort of being at home playing with the boys.'

Elsewhere in the clip, Cruz was seen cuddling up to his girlfriend Jackie Apostel, 30, who watched supportively from backstage. 

While David and Victoria have been incredibly supportive of Cruz's singing career, the pair didn't attend the show and were instead thousands of miles away holidaying in the South of France near his estranged brother, Brooklyn, 27.  

Undeterred by the lack of his loved ones in the crowd, the frontman played the guitar and belted out the band's biggest tracks, after impressing with a recent tour across the UK.

Cruz appeared to have hinted at his family fallout with his new single, Seeing Red – which pokes fun at unnecessary feuds.

The singer is currently touring the US with his band The Breakers and on Friday dropped the latest track from his upcoming debut EP Wear & Tear. 

Seeing Red features lyrics such as 'Been seeing red for as long as I remember / Yeah, I said I'm already there / The moment I drop this s**t, the whole thing's over'. 

Yet despite the serious nature of the lyrics, Cruz revealed they're meant to be taken as tongue-in-cheek, stating: 'Seeing red is a comedic take on a totally unserious moment of frustration, in this case in sports. 

'Everyone's competitive nature likes to take over now and then, but it's all fun and games. Seeing red is a nod to that exact turning point.'

Meanwhile Victoria and David narrowly missed bumping into their estranged son and his wife Nicola Peltz in St Tropez on Monday. 

Posh and Becks were most recently seen on their yacht in St Tropez, 75 miles away from their son, before enjoying lunch at the Cherry Restaurant – just five minutes from the Barbarac ice-cream parlour where Brooklyn dined. 

Later Brooklyn and Nicola flaunted their lavish weekend away with his godfather Elton John.

The aspiring chef, 27, who has been staying on Elton's yacht, relaxed at the musician's sprawling £15million villa, which previously hosted Victoria and David.

The couple shared snaps on their Instagram accounts just minutes apart on Monday where they documented their stay at Elton's Belle Epoque villa.

Elton often spends the summer months at his home of Castel Mont-Alban overlooking Nice on the French Riviera with his husband David Furnish and their two sons Zachary, 15, and Elijah, 13. 

Nicola slipped into a white minidress as she posed for selfies in the gardens, while Brooklyn larked around on the grass.

Instead of partaking in his family's annual getaway on the £16million yacht, Brooklyn united with Elton.
