In NCIS season 22, episode 10, “Baker’s Man,” Jimmy (Brian Dietzen) revealed that Nick’s secret girlfriend was Jess’ (Katrina Law) sister, Robin (Lilian Bowden). While Kasie is investigating the evidence that MCRT found at the crime scene, one of her tests shows an alarming development. Kasie tells Jess that of the three items found with Kelso’s body, one has another set of prints on it. The concern is that when the results of Kasie’s test come in, the fingerprints match Nick Torres. Parker angrily calls Nick, unaware of why he would be connected to the case. Then, Parker suddenly gets a hunch and goes to the diner to check it out.

When Parker discovers Nick’s connection to the case, Torres explains why he’s been undercover. Nick says he’s been trying to infiltrate a criminal gang operating out of Baltimore run by a man named Roman, who uses fake military IDs to steal goods from Navy bases and sell them on the black market. When Parker presses Vance and Nick on why they didn’t arrest Roman since they have the evidence, Leon explains that Roman is just a middleman and a man named Wilk (Polish for “wolf”) is running the show.

Therefore, Nick returns to the field as “Donny Rico,” impressing Roman when he controversially says that Kelso’s death opens a spot for someone to move up and says that Vincent’s performance was slipping.

The objective is to have Nick infiltrate Roman’s gang more deeply while Parker’s team attempts to discover whether Wilk killed Vincent. When Jess consults Jimmy about their case in the autopsy room, Knight gets a call from her sister and ignores it. She explains to Jimmy that Robin is calling her again to find out Nick’s whereabouts, since she has been in the dark since Torres went back into the field undercover. Jess remarks that for what's supposed to be a casual relationship, Robin treats her romance with Nick seriously. Jimmy points out that the relationship is serious and that Robin has a drawer at Nick’s apartment, which upsets Jess again.

Jess tells Nick that Robin has been engaged five times, confronting Nick about the reality of the romance that he has embarked on.

Amid the developments, Jess has to leave for her meeting with Nick to get an update on what Torres learned while undercover. Nick tells Jess that Roman’s gang is in the dark about what happened to Vincent Kelso, but she doesn't care about it. Parker suspects that Wilk showed up at the wedding to tie up loose ends and take Roman out, so they look for any sign of “The Wolf” despite not knowing what Roman’s boss looks like. Parker makes the discovery that breaks the case when he catches Roman drinking whiskey moments before his death, noting that Vance only allowed them to serve beer and wine.

Parker, Kasie, and McGee find footage of Lana giving the bartender the poisoned bottle of whiskey, finally uncovering the identity of The Wolf. As Parker and McGee reveal to Lana that they know she is Wilk, she runs and yells into the room that they are cops. The room full of federal agents suddenly draws their guns, and despite making a run for it, Lana is stopped from escaping when Knight pushes the cake cart into her, knocking the criminal to the ground and causing her to get coated in frosting.
