Actor Robin Atkin Downes posted to his X account on Aug. 20 to reveal his involvement in Naughty Dog's next game, saying "I've been keeping this one quiet for a while." The short post also includes a silly video of Downes donning a motion capture suit while the Baha Men's "Who Let the Dogs Out" plays.
Naughty Dog fans may recognize Downes, as the studio has a long relationship with him. The actor first worked with the legendary developer on 2007's Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, where he portrayed antagonist Atoq Navarro. He would then go on to play Tenzin in Uncharted 2, Talbot in Uncharted 3, Vincent Perez in Uncharted: Golden Abyss (remember the PlayStation Vita?), Robert in The Last of Us, and Hector Alcazar in Uncharted 4. You may notice that Downes plays a lot of villains. Could that be a hint to his role in Intergalactic?
Downes joins a cast that includes Tati Gabrielle as Jordan, the game's protagonist. Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet will also star Kumail Nanjiani (The Big Sick, Eternals), Tony Dalton (Hawkeye), Ashley Scott (The Last of Us), and Troy Baker (The Last of Us, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle). While details are light, director Neil Druckmann has said that the game will follow a bounty hunter, Jordan, who crash-lands on a planet that is home to a sci-fi religion that dominates its society. Unlike most Naughty Dog games, which tend to focus on gunplay, Intergalactic seems to be a hack-and-slash game with some inspiration from Elden Ring.
