Naomi Campbell makes audience gasp as she claps back at 'punctual' Anna Wintour after the Vogue editor made awkward on stage dig towards the model for being late at Harlem's Fashion Row show in NY

Naomi Campbell hit back at Anna Wintour in a furious speech after the Vogue editor made a 'dig' at her lateness during Harlem's Fashion Row show on Tuesday.

The supermodel, 54, made the audience gasp in shock after she clapped back at Anna's shady speech, live on stage.

Anna, 74, was due to present Naomi the Icon of the Year award but told the audience she had to leave because Naomi was running late and she had other places to be.

Straight-talking and 'punctual' Anna took a swipe at the mother-of-two's timekeeping, claiming Naomi is 'often late'.

She told the audience: 'I am a very punctual person, and I have the honour of presenting tonight to someone who is often late.

'So Samira Nasr has agreed to step in for me because unfortunately I have to leave after everything I would like to say about the extraordinary Naomi Campbell.'

After Anna left the event, Harper's Bazaar's editor Samira Nasr introduced Naomi with the award, as Anna's replacement.

Anna's sly dig prompted Naomi to hit back as she said: 'Yes, "Naomi's always late". 

'But I believe in my high power and I want to thank my higher power for having me be here. It's so important that I'm here today, and I'm honoured to be here in Harlem.'

She added: 'I just want to say this. Everything's going to work out the way it's meant to work out.

'It wasn't my choice to have the other lady but I'd much rather have this, so thank you.'

The clip has already gone viral across social media less than 24 hours since their clash.

The video posted on X - which has over 1.4million views - saw thousands of fans flock to the comments to discuss the awkwardness.

Harlem's Fashion Row (HFR) is a non-profit organization that helps to elevate and support Black fashion designers and entrepreneurs, providing mentorship, networking opportunities, and resources to help the designers grow their businesses.

This year's show, titled Night Of The Legends, pays tribute to fashion industry trailblazers.
