Mylio’s new SecureCloud storage system for photos and private documents hopes to bring high levels of security to everyone’s essential files. Powered by BackBlaze, Mylio SecureCloud is a premium cloud-based storage system designed for people and businesses seeking higher standards for data security over traditional cloud services.

One of SecureCloud’s key features is custom control over its cloud syncing functionality. Users are able to choose what data goes into the cloud and what stays local on the computer. The various sync tools allow users to send some files, like important photos, to the cloud and dial in the parameters for which files stay local.

Two photos of a family outdoors. In the left photo, a bearded man, woman, and child with a yellow flower stand closely together, smiling. In the right photo, the woman and child, wrapped in a striped blanket, smile while leaning against a large rock.A feature that Mylio highlights is the ability to manually control what gets synced to the cloud.

Mylio states that data uploaded to their server will never be used for advertising, sold to outside parties, or used for AI training — a key ethical detail in a world where major tech companies with cloud services, like Apple and Google, are also implementing AI into all of their systems. Data in Mylio SecureCloud is protected with encryption and is only viewable from devices designated by the user.

SecureCloud also maintains the metadata of files that get uploaded, unlike other services that might leave an imprint upon the file’s metadata during a transfer (like the “last modified” date). This feature will appeal to businesses that handle sensitive documents and client information.

Mylio is known for their Mylio Photos program, which strives to be a one-stop hub for organizing photos and data management. When combined with Mylio SecureCloud, users can expand that hub functionality to include the data sync tools in-app. All of the features of the SecureCloud suite can be directly controlled from the Photos interface.

The base subscription begins at $11.98 per month for 2TB of storage, and Mylio also offers a larger plan for 5TB that runs for $22.95 per month. A Mylio Photos+ subscription is required to use Mylio SecureCloud.

It’s hard to put a price on data security, especially important photos and captured memories. They say it’s not a matter of if a hard drive will fail, but when. Mylio SecureCloud could be that peace of mind if security, encryption, and customizable sync control are top priorities.
