Ben Brosofsky has been writing for Screen Rant since 2022 and editing since 2024. He graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor's in Cinema & Media Arts. Writing serves as a much-needed distraction from tackling a backlog of Steam games that will never be surmounted.

The anime adaptation of My Hero Academia finally wrapped up with an epilogue special earlier this year, but the story isn't over quite yet. Like most popular shōnen manga and anime, My Hero Academia is letting go quite that easily, which could be a relief to fans concerned about leaving it behind.

This time, the wait for new story material won't even be that long, and it's following the same path that franchises like Dragon Ball Z have taken. My Hero Academia is set to return in MHA: United Survival, which is currently scheduled to release on November 23, 2026.

Rather than a new manga arc or anime season, My Hero Academia: United Survival is an upcoming mobile game, with pre-registration available on Google Play and a live page on the App Store. This might not be of immediate interest to every fan, but the big hook is that the game is promising "exclusive content" beyond the scope of its action gameplay.

Not only will MHA: United Survival adapt the main story of the anime, but it will also include "game-original storylines and never-before-seen special moves," expanding the franchise in a potentially significant way. Details on the story aren't yet available — the game isn't out yet in Japan, either — but with the anime having already wrapped up, fans looking for more might not have room to be picky.

As for the gameplay, My Hero Academia: Ultimate Survival takes a roguelite approach to Quirk-based action. With squads of three characters, players will take on a variety of missions in top-down maps. It looks like a hectic, Vampire Survivors-style experience, which could end up being similar to Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton, an upcoming anime tie-in that's actually made by the Vampire Survivors developers.

My Hero Academia: Ultimate Survival will indirectly serve as a successor to the turn-based mobile RPG My Hero Ultra Impact, which shut down on May 18, 2026. The battle royale My Hero Ultra Rumble, meanwhile, is still going strong on consoles, although its gacha system has met plenty of criticism from players.

If neither of these options sound appealing, there are also some paid alternatives in the fighting games My Hero One's Justice, My Hero One's Justice 2, and My Hero Academia: All's Justice. No matter how you slice it, there are plenty of ways for My Hero Academia fans to stay entertained, even now that the main story has ended.
