Lauryn Hill turned heads with a bold new look as she surfaced on Thursday in New York City – marking a rare public appearance for the 51-year-old icon.

The musician attended and performed at a private event held at the supper club Lady Delilah, which will have its official opening on November 3.

For her nighttime outing, Hill wrapped up in a leopard-print cape over a bright red satin blouse with red pants.

She paraded down the sidewalk in white platform heel shoes and she topped off her outfit with a wide-brimmed black hat.

For added drama, Hill accessorized with dangly pearl earrings and a white paper fan.

As for her makeup, the Fugees alum opted for a flashy application of luminous purple blush, which she paired with dark green eyeshadow and dramatic winged eyeliner.

Hill was later pictured on stage performing at the invite-only soiree, which was packed to the brim with well-dressed partygoers.

The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Hill for further comment on the story.

Hill was on hand in Manhattan's Meatpacking District days before the opening of the venue, which is operated by The h.wood Group.

Hill has reunited with former Fugees bandmate Wyclef Jean for a select number of dates this year in commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the group's album The Score.

The album, which was released in February of 1996, included singles such as Killing Me Softly, Ready or Not and the group's cover of the Bob Marley and the Wailers track No Woman, No Cry.

Hill and Jean, who performed earlier this year at the Grammy Awards, are slated to play a series of dates in November in cities including Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Seattle.

The group's third member Pras (real name Prakazrel Michel) is currently serving a 14-year federal prison sentence he received last year following a 2023 conviction in connection with engaging in a back-channel foreign influence campaign.

Hill opened up earlier this month in an Instagram post about how the musical ensemble came together as she looked back on the group and The Score, 'the album that became a phenomenon of music, message, mission and creative vision.'

Hill said she first met Wyclef Jean and Pras Michel when she was 'about 12 or 13 years old' through her brother.

She said Pras – who had a reputation for 'being bold and unique in those days' – invited her 'to do background vocals for him at a studio session' in East Orange, New Jersey.

Hill said she and collaborator Marcy DeNezza 'came through, ideated, harmonized, and laid some parts down,' prior to Jean impressing everyone with his performance.

'He was part cowboy, part rapper, part dancehall DJ, part comedian,' she said of her bandmate. 'Soon after a group was formed, The Tranzlator Crew... with more members than what the Fugees would eventually become.'

Hill said that 'in hindsight, we were just a group of creative kids getting into different things, both finding and creating our way.

'Beneath all of this though was an urgent, determined and excited drive to create space for a sound and a freedom that allowed us to embody who WE were and lay the groundwork for others like us.'
