From GOAT to ghosted
Channel Seven's chief footy reporter Mitch Cleary may have thought a grovelling apology would save his relationship after his highly publicised dance floor kiss, but it seems long-time partner Kate Watts isn't giving him a second chance.
According to sources in Victorian horse racing circles, the pair are 'done' after Cleary's indiscretion with a Collingwood staff member during a press junket to the Middle East last November.
The first sign of trouble was Racing.com commentator Kate unfollowing Cleary on Instagram, although he still follows her.
The scandal erupted in early September after Watts took to Instagram to share a photo of Cleary at a football game, posing beside a sign declaring him the 'GOAT' – or 'greatest of all time'.
But it was her accompanying caption that really raised eyebrows, naming a Magpies staffer she accused of being involved with her fiancé.

After the Daily Mail broke the story, Cleary issued a public apology for what he described as his 'terrible error in judgement'.
'I am sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I have caused for all parties,' he wrote on Instagram.
'The kiss was a terrible error in judgement for which I am incredibly sorry, and I am dealing with the consequences privately with my family and those closest to me.
'I don't want to diminish my actions, but most of what has been suggested about the circumstances is not accurate.'
Watts herself hails from AFL royalty. Her younger brother, Jack, played for both Adelaide and Melbourne.
A Collingwood source said at the time: 'A consensual kiss took place during personal time on an off-season trip last year. The staff member regrets the incident and apologises for the impact their actions caused.'
The Melbourne couple, who had been together for about five years and got engaged two years ago, welcomed a daughter in February.
But if the rumours are true, it looks like Watts is about to enter her hot girl summer era. We love to see it.

Broke but still bougie
Broke, bankrupt and without a cent to her name – but the party isn't over for Nisserine 'Nissy' Nassif, who continues living the high life.
The glamorous estranged wife of fugitive property tycoon Jean Nassif was declared bankrupt last month, with trustees appointed to manage her estate. Yet just days after the news broke, the single mother-of-three was still rubbing shoulders at ritzy social events and dining at notoriously pricey CBD restaurant Grill Americano.
The apparent disconnect between Nissy's reported financial woes and her lavish social calendar comes as the NSW Supreme Court confirmed she is officially broke.
In a judgement handed down in her long-running legal stoush with former solicitors New South Lawyers, Acting Justice Ian Harrison confirmed Benjamin Ho and Scott Pascoe were appointed trustees of her bankrupt estate on September 28, 2026.
The court also ordered Nissy to pay the firm $42,250 in legal costs after she unsuccessfully challenged an earlier decision giving the solicitors more time to assess what they were owed for representing her.
The dispute has been brewing for months. In July, the court heard Nissy had reported the firm to the NSW Law Society, alleging it had conducted her case 'negligently'.
The 39-year-old has claimed she was left in dire financial straits, with three children to support and no assets to her name after her estranged husband fled overseas, and NSW Police issued a warrant for his arrest over allegations of 'large-scale fraud'.
'She informed me, in essence, that she has no money; that her husband has left her broke, having to support three children; that she is on Centrelink; and that she has no assets,' Justice Harrison said in July.

Bankruptcy hasn't stopped the glamorous estranged wife of fugitive property tycoon Jean Nassif from dining out at the Emerald City's hottest nightspots, such as Grill Americano
He also outlined her claims that she was struggling to cope with the litigation and should not be forced to pay costs while her complaint against the firm remained unresolved.
Nissy's financial woes mark the latest twist in the spectacular saga surrounding her disgraced Toplace developer ex, who became a household name after a video of him gifting her with a yellow Lamborghini went viral.
The once-flamboyant couple became synonymous with Sydney's new-money trash, regularly showcasing gaudy designer fashion, casino dinners and luxury living in a waterfront property – albeit on the Parramatta River in Chiswick.
She also found herself embroiled in controversy in 2020 when she gifted then-Sydney Confidential reporter Mibenge Nsenduluka a designer gown by French fashion house Balmain, reportedly worth between $2,000 and $3,000.
The gift was described as a thank-you after Nsenduluka - formerly of the Daily Mail, although she doesn't like people to know that - gushed in the pages of the Tele how 'all eyes were on Sydney socialite Nissy Nassif as she made a grand arrival at a VIP bash over the weekend... Guests couldn't believe their eyes as the glamorous CEO of Wiping Tears Charitable Foundation rocked up in her famous yellow Lamborghini.'
Sigh.
In journalism circles, there's another term for handing a reporter a designer dress worth thousands of dollars after they printed a puff piece: 'Frocks for favours'.
When the Sydney Morning Herald asked Nassif about the gift, she played the victim, saying: 'I don't know why, is it because of my accent or people are jealous of my life?'
Nsenduluka later admitted accepting the dress was a mistake, saying she had returned it after being reprimanded over the incident. 'I've learnt my lesson,' she said.
Now, with her finances under scrutiny, that designer gown might come in handy for a quick cash injection – though it seems Nissy has no intention of letting bankruptcy get in the way of keeping up appearances.
Lawyer's dirty laundry
A former Perth model turned Bali-based singer has found herself at the centre of a public family meltdown after accusing her ex of taking their daughter without her consent.
Eva Scolaro took to Instagram to claim Australian FIFO worker Brendan Georgy had been conspicuously absent from their children's lives, both 'emotionally' and 'financially', for months. That changed, she alleged, when he picked their little girl up from school one day. Scolaro went nuclear, calling it a 'kidnapping'.
She also claimed - very publicly, I should add - that Georgy was refusing to disclose their daughter's whereabouts, prompting an online appeal for help.
Because apparently, the natural next step in a family dispute is to invite the entire internet into it.
But Scolaro may have got more than she bargained for after rogue crime blogger Ryan Naumenko waded into the drama, accusing the mother-of-two of putting on a performance for social media.
'No one who's in a serious situation jumps on IG and has a fake cry,' he wrote.
'You should be ashamed of yourself, straight out. We don't talk about women and kidnapping their own kids.'

Daily updates on 'missing' Grace have become catnip for Instagram's algorithm over the past week. There are always two sides to a story, but surely there's a better way to resolve a private family dispute than litigating it in public online?
The former couple's daughter has spoken to her mum via video call. A lawyer acting for the girl's father, FIFO worker Brendan Georgy, said his client 'strongly object[ed]' to serious criminal allegations being published without sufficient evidence
Ouch. Not exactly the sympathy she was presumably hoping to garner.
And a quick legal disclaimer: we are not suggesting Georgy kidnapped his daughter. His representatives reject Scolaro's version of events, and the former couple's daughter has spoken to her mum via video call.
Meanwhile, Georgy's lawyers have also waded into the public melee, airing the dad's side of the dispute for all to see... in the comments of Scolaro's Instagram posts.
You couldn't make it up. Perhaps that's how they do things in Bali?
Muhammad Nabil, a criminal lawyer based in Jakarta representing Georgy, said his client 'strongly object[ed]' to serious criminal allegations being published without evidence.
The legal team pointed to Georgy's status as the child's biological father, noting that no established court order restricting his parental rights had been identified.
In other words, he can pick up his daughter and spend time with her if he wants to.
Nabil also warned that Scolaro's social media posts, screenshots and recordings could be handed to investigators, noting that a report relating to an alleged defamation matter dated June 5, 2026 had been lodged.
The lawyers even questioned whether publicly accusing the child's father of kidnapping served the child's best interests, or simply risked escalating an already sensitive family dispute.
Scolaro, meanwhile, is no stranger to bad press.
In 2009, she made headlines after glassing a woman in the face, leaving the victim with severe lacerations requiring plastic surgery and more than 60 stitches.
Scolaro was initially sentenced to 18 months' jail in April 2010, but was released on bail pending an appeal. Her freedom was short-lived after she breached her bail conditions by buying alcohol and was sent back to Bandyup Women's Prison.
In October that year, the WA Supreme Court dismissed her conviction appeal but reduced her sentence to 12 months.
The kidnapping claims remain allegations, not established facts. But with Scolaro seemingly determined to turn her family dispute into an online soap opera, the only thing more concerning than the plot is the need to broadcast every detail.
Won't somebody please think of the children?
