Minka Kelly and Dan Reynolds Make Red Carpet Debut After More Than 3 Years of Dating
Staten and Quinn's love story has come to an end.
Netflix's Ransom Canyon starring Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly has been canceled after two seasons, with the actress confirming the show's fate with a heartfelt goodbye to her cast and crew.
"Appreciating this little trip down memory lane as we say farewell," Kelly wrote on Instagram on Sept. 11. "All good things must come to an end. And so it is."
Of course, the Friday Night Lights alum didn't forget to shout out fans for their support since the show's 2025 debut.
"Thank you all for giving us two beautiful seasons!" Kelly, 46, continued. "I love you forever my Ransom Canyon family!!"
And while Duhamel, 53, has yet to speak out on the shocking cancellation, fans are certainly making their opinions known on social media.
"This is so sad," one viewer commented on Kelly's IG post. "Wish there was more of this amazing show. I am literally looking to get every look Quinn and Staten wore in season 2 for me and my husband. I hope they magically rethink this as this show definitely deserves to continue."
Another user echoed, "@netflix made a bad decision. They could have at least allowed a 3rd season...I hope someone else picks it up. I loved both seasons, and I was invested in all of the characters and storylines."
Based on Jodi Thomas' book series of the same name, season two chronicled rancher Staten Kirkland (Duhamel) "fighting to reclaim his legacy after being unseated as trustee of his family's Double K Ranch," according to the streamer's logline, "while musician Quinn O’Grady (Kelly) must decide if her heart truly belongs in the small town she once tried to outrun or in the fast-paced world of New York City."

And, despite the story's Texas setting, the cast has made it clear the show isn't a copycat of hit Western Yellowstone.
"I guess they're both in the same sandbox, but I think Ransom is a totally different thing," Kelly told E! News last year. "It's its own entirely different world."
Plus, the show is about way more than just cowboys defending their territory.
"It's family, it's romance, beautiful landscapes, it's cowboys, it's horses," she continued. "It's love, loss and betrayal. You're watching these characters find purpose and come into their own power."
