Minka Kelly posts cryptic message about 'soulmates' following shock Dan Reynolds split

Minka Kelly seems to have subtly broken her silence on her shock split from longtime boyfriend Dan Reynolds. 

Last weekend, the 46-year-old Ransom Canyon star used Instagram to post a telling quote about moving on from 'soulmates.'

News of the former couple's shock split came to light earlier this month, with a source telling People the breakup had 'happened recently.' 

The message in Kelly's latest social media post read: 'Soulmates, or partners of destiny, can be people that come into your life and change your life.

'And ideally, it’s not about holding on to it, but understanding what they brought into your life – what did you learn and how did you change? It’s about seeing these people and these situations as a gift, as steps in your own personal development.'

The quote was buried at the end of a carousel post that prominently featured photos of the actress with friends. 

The Daily Mail has reached out to reps for Kelly for comment. 

Kelly and 39-year-old Reynolds' relationship seemed intact this past summer.

In July, the Euphoria actress used Instagram to share photos featuring her then-boyfriend and his kids.

She and the Imagine Dragons frontman enjoyed a trip to Disneyland, and Kelly captioned the wholesome pictures, 'No place I'd rather be.' 

One snapshot showed Kelly and Reynolds with a large group that appeared to include the singer's brood, as well as Kelly's friend Araceli Valdes de McElroy, who brought along her four children and husband.

Reynolds was previously married to Aja Volkman from 2011 until they announced their split in September 2022.

Their divorce was finalized in March 2024 and the exes agreed to shared custody of Arrow, 14, twins Gia and Coco, nine, and Valentine, seven.

Kelly's social media post came one month after the couple made their red carpet debut at the annual MOCA Gala.

They were first romantically linked after being spotted together in Los Angeles in November 2022. 

In July 2024 the musician gushed about their bond and said they've been 'attached at the hip' since they first hit it off. 

In an interview with People, he opened up about the early days of their romance, sharing that he was connected to the actress through a mutual friend.

'After about a month we met in person, and ever since then, we've been attached at the hip. 

'Minka and I are in a really happy, healthy relationship,' he detailed to the outlet.

He also discussed his then-girlfriend's dynamic with his children, saying, 'The kids really love Minka and really love their mom, and that's okay. We view it as kind of bonuses to the family: more people to love, more people to help.

'We've just been really careful with that and slow with navigating how to bring Minka in to that conversation. She's done a really incredible job of being sensitive and careful on her end as well.'

In regards to their longlasting relationship, Reynolds pointed to 'really great therapists' and Kelly's bond with the children.

The music artist last appeared on Kelly's Instagram page in mid August.
