Worlds can be carried over from the original Switch.
Minecraft is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 later this year, with no specific release date announced.
Revealed during today's Nintendo Direct, the game will have enhanced visuals enabled, so the game should be a great looking version of the survival crafting classic, even on the go.
In addition, the game will have enhanced lighting and shadow effects, just to make things look extra fancy.
As a nice bonus, if you have a world you're playing on the Nintendo Switch version of Minecraft, this can be carried over to this new Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game. So, no progress is lost for those able to make the leap to the latest console.
