Milo Ventimiglia and Wife Jarah Mariano Welcome First Baby
This is us, as parents.
Milo Ventimiglia—who shares daughter Ke’ala Coral Ventimiglia, 12 months, with pregnant wife Jarah Mariano—pulled back the curtain on the realities of being a new parent, noting that people probably think he and Jarah "must be crazy" for having two kids in such close succession.
"Got a beautiful daughter, she’s wonderful," the This Is Us alum said on the Feb. 5 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. "What day is it? Thursday? Wonderful. It’s the same as Wednesday or Tuesday, yeah. They’re all the same. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday..."
He went on to share that Ke'ala is "actually doing great" and "sleeping through the night" already.
"She loves to wake up at 5:40 in the morning and talk to herself, kinda jabber on and whatnot," Milo added. "My wife and I are lying in bed like, ‘Does she have her [pacifier]?’ ‘I don’t know. I can’t tell from the monitor.’ ‘Did she poop herself?’ ‘I don’t know. I can’t tell from the monitor.'"
"And then you’re kind of like, after a certain period of time, 'You know this,'" he continued. "You walk in there, you’re like, well, she didn’t poop herself, and she’s got her [pacifier], so the world’s good."
The 48-year-old admitted that he expected to be a "wonder-parent" but had to reset his expectations after the "hard and wonderful" experience of losing their Malibu home in the California wildfires right before becoming parents for the first time.

"I was striving to," he reflected. "I’m like, ‘Cool, man. I’m going to be the healthiest. We’re going to feed this baby organic. We’re going to buy blenders, do all this stuff. We’re going to go argue with some dude named Kale about blueberries at the farmers’ market.’ Then, after a while, you’re like, ‘Oh, man, we had quite a year.’"
The Gilmore Girls alum made sure to shout out his wife for how she's handled such a difficult last 12 months.
"Listen, my wife is the most unbelievable," he gushed. "Jarah, if you’re watching, you are the most unbelievable human being, creature, species of everything. She handles everything great."
