Veteran Channel Seven newsreader Mike Amor has walked away from the network after three decades, quietly signing off without an on-air goodbye to viewers.
The veteran journalist, who spent 18 years as Seven's US Bureau Chief in Los Angeles, is understood to have presented his final bulletin on Friday night before slipping out the door without any fanfare.
He confirmed his departure on Saturday in a brief social media statement, thanking his fans for their years of support.
'After 11,618 days (yes, I counted!) sadly my time at @7newsmelbourne is over. Thanks for everyone's support!' he wrote.
Amor was reportedly keen to keep his departure low-key, choosing not to mention it on air or alert colleagues beforehand, according to the Herald Sun.
Instead, the popular presenter sent an email to Seven staff later that evening, revealing he had finished up and thanking them for their support over the past 30 years.

In a characteristically understated sign-off, Amor even joked his departure would leave behind a little extra office space.
'There will be a spare desk from today, as I wrap up my time at Seven,' he wrote.
'I didn't want to make any fanfare, but I wanted to let you all know, and to also say thanks for your camaraderie over the past three decades,' he added.
'I've had a great time here – covered some incredible stories – and will be wishing you all the best success from home – almost as much as I will be willing on my beloved Tigers in 2027.'
Amor had been a familiar face on Australian television for decades, most recently presenting Seven's weekend bulletins alongside Karina Carvalho.
His departure comes amid a shake-up at the network's Melbourne newsroom.
Amor was reportedly surprised to discover he was not in the running to replace newsreader Peter Mitchell when the veteran presenter steps down.
Speculation has also been mounting that former Today host Sarah Abo is headed to Seven, with reports suggesting she could form a new presenting team with Mitchell in 2027.
The potential signing would represent a major coup for Seven as the network looks to regain ground in Melbourne's fiercely competitive television news ratings battle.
